In a normal game a 12 point lead is large. In this game it feels like it's twice as large.

How can anyone cheer for that TTU team? They are a basketball team with almost no connection to the university, just a bunch of guys wearing TTU jerseys.

Hope they blast UVA, who had no business winning that game … it was over, until the refs decided otherwise

That play great Team Defense. That's how.

They make Kentucky’s and Duke’s systems of oad look Ivy League. It’s a farce.

I assume that you're talking about the fact that Mooney, Owens and Francis are transfers? Francis was an old school type transfer in that he left Florida after his frosh season, then redshirted and finished out at TT. Mooney and Owens, as grad transfers, are no different than Reid Travis, Evan Fitzner or even Ben Carter (at MSU) last season. Grad transfers are everywhere now and likely not getting the bags of cash that the other type of OAD's are getting.

There may be another story that you are referencing that I'm not aware of, but if your beef with Texas Tech is because of Mooney and Owens, it seems pretty lame compared to what most people don't like about how UK and Duke operate.

I agree. A bunch of guys from different situations and teams all finding a home, supporting each other, and buying into a common philosophy.....that’s not a team.

Come to think of it the 1980 U.S. Olympic Hockey team wasn’t a team either. Just a bunch of guys wearing the USA jersey.

Duke,UNC and UK the best players money could buy. Yet,they let the NCAA-ESPN propaganda machine down. Texas Tech -a group of players coached by a toughminded guy in the Finals. Heck, yeah!!! Oh, I forgot Billy [show them the money] Self and Kansas. Auburn should have been there but refs were gonna make sure that didn't go down. Nothing against Kyle Guy,he was super in the end. Another tribute to Indiana players' skills.

LOL

Kyle was clearly hit as he released the ball. I have no issue with that foul being called, regardless of the moment in the game. The real travesty for Auburn was the missed double dribble a second earlier. THAT, was the game.

So the one and dones at Kentucky and Duke have a connection to the school?
Those days are over, they play for shoe companies and a certain coach.
Romeo had a connection to IU???

Texas Tech is nothing more than a team of mercenaries. Cheering for them is like going to your local gym and cheering for a random team in a pickup game.

The bride and I were watching the game last night and I said the same thing...12 point felt insurmountable against the TT defense...

Better get used to the concept "Earl". With the Transfer Portal you're going to see more teams put together like TT than not.

Very true,we had one this year and are looking at a couple more for next year.
I got a chuckle out of the people that were encouraging Romeo to stay another year to leave his ‘legacy’ at IU,whatever that means?

Maybe you or someone else can help me. If a player is dribbling and loses control of the ball can't they get the ball back, possess it and dribble it again. I admit I might not be seeing things correctly. Thanks.

It will be interesting to see which schools decide to go to that route exclusively. I won’t have to get used to it unless my school follows that blueprint. I doubt it will.

After his jersey was pulled off his back, which, also was not called.

And which school is "your" school?

Tech = 4 transfers in their top 6, 3 starters, 2 of them grad transfers? A mercenary is a mercenary ..

NCAA will be changing grad transfer rules soon. So more likely you will not be seeing as many teams filled with as many free agents.

Nope,if they touch the ball with both hands and the balk touches the floor they cannot dribble again.
The only way they can is if the ball is knocked out of their hands.
I kept waiting for the whistle last night for them to call it.
I couldn’t believe it wasn’t brought up until after the game was over.

The fact that no one mentioned probably is the same reason the refs missed it. Everyone was looking for the foul, no one saw the odd sequence for what it was.

Exactly right. It never occurred to me that was a violation until 5 minutes later when my Purdue buddies were blowing up Twitter about the Virginia conspiracy. It appears the entire NCAA is in on it. Virginia must win the championship! ;););)

Imagine that. A player touched the ball twice with both hands .... but no ref called a double dribble.

No Kentucky.
No Duke, (no jewelry related or OAD related or Klingon related or employing-a-player's-mother or otherwise related.)
No Connecticut.
No Kansas.
No Purdue.

I missed it. I thought the Auburn player had reached across his front and knocked the ball away and off his calf. It wasn't until I saw the replay after that I realized it was a double dribble. It's too bad, but I understand how the call was missed. You have to take into consideration that it happened in real time, with the ref responsible for that call looking at it from floor level, and with the offensive player between him and the defender. He missed it for sure, but I don't see it as something that was egregious.

Something that's getting lost in the conversation surrounding the call is that Auburn missed free throws on its last two possessions as I recall. If they go into that last VA possession up four or five as they could have, Guy's attempt at the three is meaningless. Instead, Auburn commits a bad foul, Guy drains three free throws, and Auburn loses. Terrible break for Auburn, but sometimes those things happen.

I suggest that in future, you station yourself outside the arena at Texas Tech and warn those folks that they shouldn't go in and support their team. They'll listen to you, don't you think? Ever been to the West Texas plains? Its a great place to get yer ass kicked real good.
