.....we need that all season. The guy is emerging as the spark plug for this team! He is aggressive and confident out there.

The chemistry on this team is night and day over last year.

He had 4 turnovers - the most on the team. Great game except for that.
Yeah, but considering the amount of time he handled the ball, the FSU pressure, and all the other great things he did, I am willing to overlook that tonight.

But it is an area he could improve. He made a couple pretty bad plays.

I agree that it's somewhat acceptable for tonight since he did a lot of other things great and IU probably doesn't win without him. I just disagree with VPN that he wasn't turning it over like crazy. Some of those turnovers weren't due to pressure, they were just bad passes that he shouldn't have even attempted.

Yep. Those are the bad plays I was speaking of. He should have been able to avoid those. That’s where CAM makes the statement about having to just accept some of that from a player like DG. And we are just going to have to do the same. But that doesn’t mean he shouldn’t continue to work on that or that he hasn’t gotten better, because he really has.

I've seen Green commit 4 TO's in 4 minutes. This was nothing.
One of DG's turnovers was the attempted long pass to Brunk on the leak out. He was just late in seeing it. As the commentator noted, not a bad idea just bad execution. A couple of others were bad post entry passes. Both he and Durham have to improve here. Those mistakes are concentration issues and knowing how and where to put those passes. A lot of that is being out of a stance and not in a balanced position to control the location. Those are bad turnovers.

I'll throw out some praise for Franklin and Anderson too.

There was a stretch in the second half where we couldn't seem to inbound the ball or bring it down the floor. Those two stepped it up and did a good job inbounding and bringing the ball across the ten second line so that Green didn't have to do everything.

Franklin also had four rebounds and nine points as well, and Anderson played solid defense and hit a crucial three-pointer when we needed it. Good contributions by both.

The team had 18 turnovers, though -- that's way too many.

Even though I question some of Dackich's comments..He was 100% right when last April he said ..Indiana you have three pretty good guards coming back next year..He even said ..I could see Geen averaging close to 20 ~
We'll see ...Loong season yet..
But Green has all the goods to be a scorer !

DG was in the zone and it took a lot of pressure off the young guys. Now on to the next test and it's a good one - on the road at Wisconsin.

What we know: The Badgers will take the air out of the ball, make every possession count, and try to force IU to work in the half court. Their style makes FT's and turnovers critical and at home they can play physical defense and rarely get called for a foul.

This is a complete 180 type of game from last night. A great early season test. Hoping IU can handle the frustrations of a conference road game, execute their offense, crash the boards, and still get to the line frequently. And the defense has to travel.

While this is true..... it's also possibly the best defense we will play all year, and we scored 80 points.

.

Damezi had a breakout game defensively. Lots of hustle plays that didn't really show up in the box score.

Franklin really showed up in a big game. I feel confident he will be a season long contributor. As far as Devonte. IMO, He really should be starting to avoid the slow starts.
