Woodson to retire at seasons end. Top 2 choices assuming most select Brad Stevens although extremely unlikely it ever happens -

Stevens, Pearl, and Drew will never happen. I also doubt Dusty leaves after just one year at Michigan. Be interesting, though, to see if the students yell, “we want Dusty” on Saturday.

McCollum in a heartbeat. The guy is a consistent winner. His teams are off the charts. 12 of 15 seasons as a head coach with single digit losses in the overall season..
Universally know for building strong cultures, develops players and has a sustained, winning system. No brainer.
He'd definately could have Bo Ryan type success here with a more cleaner brand of ball.

Some are worried about his style of play, but maybe he just plays what’s best for the type of players he has. If he was hired and able to keep Tucker and a couple of the more athletic/potential guys on this years team, he could change “his” style a little and succeed. He always finds great shooters and hard workers.

I don’t think he’s won all of those games always having the “best” players

I like his style better than the “no style” we have now. Anybody raise their hand who favors 20 turnovers and losing by 20-30 points in games. Anyone?
No takers?

Hasn't completed a season in D1 yet.

Any assistant coaches you want to keep? Calbert is the only one I can tell has done anything to develop a player. Switched Ballo to his left hand free throw and Tucker came to IU because of him.

Beards altercation with ex-girlfriend is something I would ask you to research a bit. Texas should've stood by him on that. There's no "show cause" on the hire. His staff is a perfect fit. I ask you look at the components of his staff. They'd hit the ground running in a way others couldn't. IU is a job that requires an Alpha male in the room. No one unproven, his buyout is 4.5 maybe 5.

Coach K and Mark Few didn’t have much Division I head coaching experience before they took over “no name” basketball schools. You know the results. All about the coach and the players wanting to play for them. A coach doesn’t win over 400 games out of 500 and not have that
“Something”
