There's now a buzz going around that Woodson is stepping down today for health reasons.
That’s just plain ass mean. Sorry, lmao..Heard the same. Has some rectal security issues as his ass keeps getting handed to him a couple of times a week.
Assuming that he's announcing immediate retirement, not at the end of the season (which is what I would expect) -- of those three I'd say Cheaney if he wants it.Who comes in as interim coach? Cheaney? Anyone but Rosemond or Hunter
They are trying to let him save face but he was 100% going to get canned at the end of the seasonThere's now a buzz going around that Woodson is stepping down today for health reasons.
I'm confused. Woody retired almost 4 years ago. He's been chillin above the Uptown. There's now a buzz going around that Woodson is stepping down today for health reasons.
Cheaney is risky... I don't think this roster is as good or as talented as many on here do, but they do have some potential. The problem...maybe a good thing...we only have 8 games left, and what they need to be successful, at this point, likely would take multiple weeks to "fix" or implement. By then, seasons over.Assuming that he's announcing immediate retirement, not at the end of the season (which is what I would expect) -- of those three I'd say Cheaney if he wants it.
Can't really bring in someone from outside for what, 5-6 weeks and expect they'd do anything. The season is over, just bring the ship back in to port.
Agree -- just be very very clear at the outset that the interim coach (whoever it is) is an INTERIM coach, and a full and proper search will be conducted.Cheaney is risky... So...maybe Cheaney would be the guy that would give the program the most "juice". But man, if he'd Diebler the end of the season, and do something crazy like win 6 or 7 games out of the 8 remaining, and/or win the B10 tournament... I hope, hope, hope...that Dolson has the stones to not cave under the immense pressure there would be to hire him permanently.
None of Woodson's assistants are very good coaches. They will all to the exact same thing he did and play two bigs. This team is far too flawed to go on any kind of a run.Agree -- just be very very clear at the outset that the interim coach (whoever it is) is an INTERIM coach, and a full and proper search will be conducted.
I think you just do a rotation. Let each one coach a game or 2. That way, no chance of Mike Davis situation.Cheaney is risky... Whoever it is make it very clear they will not be retained.I think you just do a rotation. Let each one coach a game or 2. That way, no chance of Mike Davis situation.
Sound like that was the plan; however, there are rumblings that didn't go well. Sounds like it will be immediately. Fingers crossed.I think he’s announcing but finishing out the year.
It sounds like he is gone right away. I don't think he took to kindly about being told he had to retire.Sound like that was the plan; however, there are rumblings that didn't go well. Sounds like it will be immediately. Fingers crossed.
Not that I know the guy at all but I don't get the impression that Cheaney aspires to a coaching career. He's had a couple of assistant coaching gigs with other IU alums and is now at IU not even rostered as a coach but as a director of player development. If he did agree to step in as interim I don't think he would want the job permanently, nor does he have the qualifications to do it under any objective criteria.I think you just do a rotation. Let the players decide who they want...just get Dackich to finish the season
And if they choose Treloar and Davis?Let the players decide who they want...
If only to fire him again at the end of the season. That would be very funny.just get Dackich to finish the season
Yeah I sort of agree. Great talent but not a good mix of what's needed. Still an average coach would have this team going to the tournament easily.None of Woodson's assistants are very good coaches. They will all to the exact same thing he did and play two bigs. This team is far too flawed to go on any kind of a run.
how about get the band back together, for 1 last run, Davis as defensive coach, Crean to run the offense and cheerlead, Arch to handle all the press requirements. Sampson to get the money back from the players. Dackich to just be a dick.Let the players decide who they want...
Quinn has NBA coaching experiencejust get Dackich to finish the season
just get Dackich to finish the season
just get Dackich to finish the season
I nominate Kurt. If Shooter can do it so can he.just get Dackich to finish the season
I don’t want any of these current low IQ players making any decisions on the future of this program!Let the players decide who they want...
Good lord, can you imagine?Quinn has NBA coaching experience
With Dane Fife as.an assistantjust get Dackich to finish the season
Me too! But if I won a Natty, and they didn't retain me, I'd be on here posting like crazy about it.If Woodson does get fired then whoever the interim coach is has ZERO chance of being the next coach. This doesn't have to be stated and/or clarified at all. It wouldn't matter if whoever it is pulled a Steve Fischer. There's zero chance of the interim being retained on a permanent basis. After all the crap we've gone through there's zero chance of that happening.
EDIT: Also, I want to be the coach.
Well don't worry because even if Stevens himself is the interim coach, this group of players is not sniffing a Final Four. Just not the right combination of talent and work ethic.Me too! But if I won a Natty, and they didn't retain me, I'd be on here posting like crazy about it.
