true that a place like IU will command much larger NIL deals in general, but I also don’t any player would appreciate being deterred from maximizing whatever deals they could get, whether it be $500 or $100,000IDK. You'll need ask the coach or school that hires him. As for wealthy alums, you are correct in that all schools have them but IU, PU, and ND have more. Plus all 3 of those schools will get more national attention.
I am sure Matta and Fife could do well. I just don't fear them in recruiting as you seemed to suggest.
Good, then Butler won't matter in recruiting. And yet, a HOF coach is about to hire him. NIL doesn’t matter at Butler.
Lol yes they will. Matt Painter said essentially the same thing about NIL. There are only a handful of schools where NIL is big enough to matter (in basketball).Good, then Butler won't matter in recruiting.
IU is for sure one. Let Purdue and Butler keep with the old ways.Lol yes they will. Matt Painter said essentially the same thing about NIL. There are only a handful of schools where NIL is big enough to matter (in basketball).
IU is trying. We aren’t close to leading, but we are one of them playing it up.IU is for sure one. Let Purdue and Butler keep with the old ways.
I wouldn’t be so sure of that.IU is trying. We aren’t close to leading, but we are one of them playing it up.
I’m sure Purdue and Butler will carry on with their normal results.
Lol yes they will. Matt Painter said essentially the same thing about NIL. There are only a handful of schools where NIL is big enough to matter (in basketball).
He said Purdue won’t be getting highly involved with NIL as well. Sasha probably made like $25k total in NIL.Painter said that if NIL was important to a recruit, then Purdue wasn't the right place for them, but he was saying this as Stefanovic was doing ads for a Maserati dealership, so was being highly disingenuous.
He said Purdue won’t be getting highly involved with NIL as well. Sasha probably made like $25k total in NIL.
Lol keep thinking that. IU players get more than $25k. Players aren’t lining up to come here. Fit still matters. And you don't think that $25k wouldn't matter to recruits? Players may or may not split hairs when it comes to NIL money and +/- 10% might not make a big deal to a lot. But if a recruit thinks they'd get $5K at one school vs $25K at another, that is going to matter to like 95% of college basketball players
Nobody says fit doesn’t but you dismissing NIL is just strange. Players weren’t lining up but it’s not like Woody hasn’t landed duds. I mean we don’t know if they are or aren’t. So far it’s without NIL. Jury is still out on how much of an influence NIL will have in the next couple of years.Lol keep thinking that. IU players get more than $25k. Players aren’t lining up to come here. Fit still matters.

I’m not dismissing NIL. JFC.Nobody says fit doesn’t but you dismissing NIL is just strange. Players weren’t lining up but it’s not like Woody hasn’t landed duds. So you think the Purdue’s and Butler’s of the world are just going to fall off? This is literally the first year of NIL and recruits have only been getting even a slight idea of what to potentially expect out of NIL money in the last 6 or so months.
He’s entitled to his opinion. He’s not entitled to lecture to the kids about it.Is he not entitled to his political opinions because he’s a Republican?
NIL is important at the IU level. It’s not at the Butler level (or even schools like Purdue).
And there is no evidence that he was. He’s entitled to his opinion. He’s not entitled to lecture to the kids about it.
I’m sure you would have no issue if it were reported Woodson was talking to players about Liberal policies.Sure Jan.
..or tell Dakich inner workings of the program. Which he did. He’s entitled to his opinion. He’s not entitled to lecture to the kids about it.
So you think the Purdue’s and Butler’s of the world are just going to fall off?
But he didn’t. That’s the point. The political leanings isn’t the problem.I’m sure you would have no issue if it were reported Woodson was talking to players about Liberal policies.
Purdue was recruiting against only ND for Ivey.It depends on how competitive they stay in NIL money. If they fall way behind in NIL money, then yes they would fall off to some degree. While Purdue/Painter have done a good job finding players that punch above their expectations coming out of HS (some vastly so) and don't get really high profile recruits, most of their more prominent players have been getting several other major conference offers, and without competitive NIL money, Purdue likely won't get guys like Ivey, Trevion Williams, Carsen Edwards to come in the future
You have no proof that Woodson didn’t, or that Fife did. Absolutely zero. But he didn’t. That’s the point. The political leanings isn’t the problem.
Yes, as a matter of fact I would. They should keep the kids out of it. If the players choose to talk to them about it, that’s one thing.I’m sure you would have no issue if it were reported Woodson was talking to players about Liberal policies.

Who gives a flying F about his next coaching stop. He’s a dope. And if he was such a great assistant wouldn’t you think Izzo would have told him he would be MSU’s coach when he retired? Why are some on here wasting time on this guy? Just don’t get it.And yet, a HOF coach is about to hire him. NIL doesn’t matter at Butler.
Are you blind, deaf and dumb? He posted the crap all over Twitter. Didn’t get asked to take it down he got told to. Fife screwed up and you guys act like nothing happened except some manufactured smear campaign. Which is a stupid theory. IU gains nothing from smearing Dane Fife. He may not be completely against it but he’s certainly hurt himself with that one tweet and “rumor”.This nonsense that Fife is anti NIL is complete rubbish. Could he have possibly been upset about losing a recruit to a better NIL school and said something off the cuff, sure. But to think he’s dug his heels in against NIL and won’t bend is like believing the Earth is flat. Possibly worse. How are people so gullible to this crap?
Izzo doesn’t have the power to make that decision. He’s a very proven assistant and proven recruiter.Who gives a flying F about his next coaching stop. He’s a dope. And if he was such a great assistant wouldn’t you think Izzo would have told him he would be MSU’s coach when he retired? Why are some on here wasting time on this guy? Just don’t get it.
IU gains nothing? They had to explain why they fired an alum after 1 year even though he was a fan favorite and the most decorated assistant on staff. Are you blind, deaf and dumb? Lol. Here you go again. Not going to get into politics with you here, Dane, there’s a time and a place. They aren’t kids.
Why stop with the basketball team though? IU professors are notorious for shoving their left winged agendas down every students throat they can get their hands on.
Well, because he tweeted about it and has spouted off about it to DD. You missed that? This nonsense that Fife is anti NIL is complete rubbish. Could he have possibly been upset about losing a recruit to a better NIL school and said something off the cuff, sure. Lol we all know already what you think politically. You’ve got to be losing the current economic situation 😉.Lol. Here you go again. Not going to get into politics with you here, Dane, there’s a time and a place.
^^^^^^ Trying to turn thread into politics since he has no facts. ^^^^^Lol we all know already what you think politically. You’ve got to be losing the current economic situation 😉.
Fife told rabby and Dakich crap all year long. You must not have paid attention. Woody wanted to keep crap in house but guess who shot his mouth off? Guess who chose the wrong side? Hint: he no longer has a job.IU gains nothing? They had to explain why they fired an alum after 1 year even though he was a fan favorite and the most decorated assistant on staff.
Someone had to “leak” all that stuff to Rabjohns.
You have no facts either. We are both speculating based on a report from Rabjohns.^^^^^^ Trying to turn thread into politics since he has no facts. ^^^^^
I know Fife talked to Rabby and Dakich. I was the one who informed this board about the rift in the coaching staff. You all jumped all over me telling me it wasn’t true, yet I was correct.Fife told rabby and Dakich crap all year long. You must not have paid attention. Teams can change over time. There are few programs that have changed as rapidly, relatively speaking, over time as has IU in the negative sense. Butler could become the Gonzaga of the Midwest in the positive sense. Never forget that it's a funny world out there, not in the laughing sense. Don't get me wrong, I'm not shaking in my boots over Matta being back at Butler, but I bet Butler fans are thrilled and if he would take Fife, they would be dancing in the streets and Fife's probably the coach to replace Matta after a short stint. Sound vaguely familiar?IDK. You'll need ask the coach or school that hires him. As for wealthy alums, you are correct in that all schools have them but IU, PU, and ND have more. That in itself would get you fired. Then the dumb tweets. You don’t complain about your boss to two knuckleheads who make a living off info. Just dumb. 🤨 the smear stuff doesn’t make sense. At all.I know Fife talked to Rabby and Dakich. I was the one who informed this board about the rift in the coaching staff. You all jumped all over me telling me it wasn’t true, yet I was correct.
Rabby went as far as to state that Woodson doesn’t listen to his assistants. Now, Fife obviously didn’t leak all that stuff about what Fife allegedly did to Rabby. Had to come from someone else.
My guess is that Woodson threatened to take away Peegs’ access for all of their bad mouthing of Woodson during the year. So they had Rabjohns write the smear of Fife. Rabby had stated all year how close he and Fife were and then turned around and stabbed him in the back. Dudes a snake.
