In three years after cashing that check I’d be in the exact same financial spot only with a new ex and a new kid to supportI'd pay a lot of money to see McMurtry rolling up to 3UP in a Caddy.
Luck does play a big part. Back before the tech implosion when everyone was making a killing in the market in the late 90s/very early 2000s, I got out of most the big tech names. Because I was smart? No.One thing I've learned is it's sure better to be lucky than smart. Sometimes you can be too smart for your own good.
We had our first kid and as my wife was a teacher, it made sense for her to stay home. I sold a bunch to build a new house and pay off car loans so she could be home for the next decade while the kids were young. Now that was luck.
Be so so fun. And my partners would be living in the exact same houses driving the exact same cars going you’re so Fing stupid.
And I’d have a third stop on my Monday morning misery, which today started at 6:30 and ended at 10:30. I’m not even bothering going to the office.
Pissing down rain. Minion refused to get dressed. Finally bribe him with a baby bottle pop. The delay causes daughter to miss bus. Have to drive her which 1) puts me in the school line and 2) leaves me in the center of traffic to get my minion to school.
Right in the middle of traffic he goes DADA YOU GOT POO POO IN YO PANTS!!!! I go hahaha noooooo. YOU GOT POO POO IN YO PANTS!!!! And he paused a minute and goes. Yeah.
Fck me. Change at sbx. Takes 25 minutes to get my drink and his cake pop, which falls out of the bag in the parking lot. Left his raincoat in the bathroom there.
Turn on the street to school. He screams NO NO NO I GO TO OFFICE NOT SCHOOL!!!!! I drag his little ass in and flee. Both of us soaked from rain. I’ll tell ya this much. I guarantee I’ll have an incident report today bc someone is gonna have to pay for his morning

Those are the days, my man. Drink it in. I miss them. My 17 year old wants nothing to do with me except when she wants something. I'm now fighting with my 14 year old about listening to shit rap music and those awful lyrics. He's quitting drumming because he didn't like the jazz club (god, that's a gut punch), and now pissed at me for forcing him to join an academic-minded club since he quit drums.
I miss when they were young and just full of love and fun and poop.
I know I hear ya. It’s fantastic. Sucks about yours. Exact same boat with my 14 year old daughter. Seems like it happened overnight. We were inseparable. Now I’m just an Uber for her and an annoyance with guidance she doesn’t want etc

I've seen it in action while eating at a restaurant in goa. Someone taking a dump outside on the street. I've also seen someone urinating inside a moving public bus in South IndiaEver done it, though?
It's liberating.
People who think they will serve as a counterweight to China have another one coming. The 2 countries aren't in the same stratosphere.
