Why doesn’t this board address the

It's a self-check. Like Aloha, I just assume anything from DOGE is a lie, but confirming my suspicions once in a while with leg work keeps me honest.
I believe I said false or inaccurate because the false information is probably not made up lies, it’s mostly just Musk and his team not understanding what they’re looking at and hurriedly put it out before they do. Either way, this false information is being repeated long after it’s been proven false and it’s not at all good that it’s happening.

If those are the top five things, I'm perplexed at why Musk thinks or says that DOGE can eliminate up to a trillion $ in waste. Maybe he's adding up the money over all the years he thinks it would last but for this digging.
Not a chance in hell he finds that much. I’m all for rooting out actual waste, but this isn’t the way to do it and if they have success it’ll be a few billion and no where near a trillion. Find that few billion by all means!

It will become a value quagmire. Waste is what’s germane. But what’s waste? A $200 $3 hammer. Something that doesn’t provide value in return? Dei training for an African town that’s all black by way of extreme ex. Another redundant plane for defense. It’s congressional legislative issues and accountability
Those weren’t hammers, they were Multi-Directional Impact Instruments (MDIIs), and those were expensive.

I don't even think it is a lie. They are just ignorant to what they are looking at. The Senate GOP members had a meeting with Musk and had to explain to him what rescission is. There wasn't any attempt to learn about what they were interacting with, they just went in and started hacking. Like an overconfident 12 year old landscaping your yard with a hatchet....

Most of what they have found isn't fraud or theft, some is waste IMO but really what they have stumbled upon is "spending I disagree with". DOGE is a more expensive version of what John Stossell used to do for free.

You guys are right; wrong choice of terminology on my part.

I’m not even sure that all the falsehoods the President spews are intentional lies. I think he may actually believe many of those falsehoods. Well, the big one is an intentional lie. The evidence proves he knew it was a lie and he didn’t care.

Option A: A bunch of shit libs on a random IU board copy and pasting articles

Option B: Go to X and read what the people say their doing

Season 3 Nbc GIF by The Office
Trying to help you out. All the doge tweets on X are all right there for you.

I do wonder about the propriety of a government website linking directly to a special government employee’s wholly owned platform. Who am I kidding? No one cares about ethics or legality anymore.

How do you debunk propaganda? Is fraud any Federal spending that Daddy Musk doesn't like? DOGE is down to posting about cancelling $56k landscaping contracts at VA.
Four Seasons going out of business?

Musk thinks these NGO set ups that receive a lot of the money then use the money to funnel back into the American political system. That would be worth knowing, if true. He also said he thinks there is a lot of fraud going on with people using fake ss#s he thinks can be weeded out.
Regarding Citizens United:

"The majority held that the prohibition of all independent expenditures by corporations and unions in the Bipartisan Campaign Reform Act violated the First Amendment.[3] The ruling barred restrictions on corporations, unions, and nonprofit organizations from independent expenditures, allowing groups to independently support political candidates with financial resources."

Soooooooo, NGOs can do whatever they want with their money b/c the Supremes said it was ok? I mean, the weirdness of USAID (a government org) funding an NGO (Non-governmental org) does seem odd but here we are.

NGO stands for non-governmental organization. It's a specific type of non-profit. Sure, it has 1A rights per CU. We still should want to know if the Exec branch is funneling payments to NGOs under the guise of USAID to influence domestic politics.

I mean, I'm sure it's happening under a variety of differing adminstrations.

However, USAID is also overseen by the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. Are they funneling too?

Agree in principle we should know what funding is happening but using bits and pieces as soundbites to attack the prior admins seems specious. Also, wasn't all this already public knowledge should anybody have actually looked.

I think using the word "funneling" is a bit prejorative as well.

I meant it to be pejorative. The government shouldn’t do that, no matter the party.

I must be dumb. What is it you think is being done?
To be clear, it's what Musk says is being done. I'm saying if that is true, it is a bad thing.

The "it" is the US funding NGOs with a specific mission that turns out to then spend money promoting political issues within the US, whether via a foreign or domestic campaign or effort, supporting one party or another.

Diabolical.

The thread was started by a satire account. I think it's probably appropriate to move onto the issues, and not spend time litigating his/her/its word choice.
You saying Lucy isn't real? That is a bummer because I was thinking if something happened to Mrs. VPM and I got through the appropriate amount of grieving then I might give Lucy a call.
