They had next to no football history or achievements prior to the mid 90s.
They have a stadium no larger than memorial. They went to,the post season something like 3 times in 30 plus years from the late 50s to early 90s. They were certainly very low on totem pole in their conference.
Just something to ponder why some programs can turn the tables, while others like IU are forever at the kiddies table.
