According to Dakich, RMK quit recruiting. He found more interesting things to do with his time. When he was on top, he didn't need to recruit. His name and the school was enough to get some people interested. After the 92-93 season, they didn't do squat. Lost in the first or second round. Is that right?
We are never going to keep every recruit from leaving the state. We've never done that, actually.Living up here in Wisconsin, I'd like to see 3 things from the next coach:
1. Keep recruits in Indiana from bailing and going to UM, MSU, O$U or god help us, UK.
2. Not suck each year against Buckyville.
3. At the very least make it past the sweet sixteen instead of sucking during the first round of anything.

In 93/94 we made the Sweet Sixteen and lost to Boston College. After the 92-93 season, they didn't do squat. Lost in the first or second round. Is that right?
Knight's record in the 90s:After the 92-93 season, they didn't do squat. Lost in the first or second round. Is that right?
Knight's record in the 90s:
Overall: 231-92 (.715 win pct)
Big Ten: 118-56 (.678 win pct)
Big ten championships: 2
Top 3 finishes: 7
NCAA Tourney:
4 Sweet 16s
2 Elite 8s
1 Final Four
Never missed the NCAAT
Not Knight-like overall but still not near as bad as some people are portraying it. Far better than what we've had the last 9 seasons.
In the entire history of college basketball, there are 14 coaches (out of thousands) who had a winning percentage as high as Knight, but his 5 rolling year average through out the nineties as shown above was 10 points higher than his career. These numbers go back to Clair Bee, Ed Diddle, Adolf Rupp, Doc Meanwell and Phog Allen.Knight's record in the 90s:

If you make the Elite 8, you've also made the Sweet 16. If you make the Final Four, you've also made the Sweet 16 and Elite 8. That's what I was basing the information off of.You starting at 89-90 or 90-91? Either way, it's actually 2 Sweet 16s, 1 Elite Eight, and 1 FF. And that was all in 90-91 to 93-94. Looks like you are counting the EE and FF seasons also as Sweet 16 appearances. Everything he did in the 90s was during those four seasons. The rest of the 90? Pffffffffffft. Never even won the BigTen again. I think he finished 2nd once the rest of the 90s.
