since no one has open this up for discussion, i will. i'm sure most of us have seen the story on this site. beverly said indiana is one of the schools he is hearing from the most. as we all know, we don't have a scholly available for brooks, let alone beverly. as we also know, we are in dire need of help at guard. someone would have to go to make room. what is miller thinking? anyone?

Don't want to state the obvious, but Romeo is most likely gone. That would open a spot up for Brooks. As far as an additional spot, somebody would have to leave. May be a situation like when Knight would have a frank discussion with a player, tell him he didn't see him playing much, and say transferring would be in his best interest if he wanted more than that.

Don't have room for Brooks? I guess you're living in the fantasy world in which Romeo returns. It appears the school he's expected to commit to is MSU, which is also recruiting Brooks. Maybe the thought is if Brooks chooses MSU, IU might be able to snag Beverly.

If they just get one. The need for a guard is greater. If they get healthy there are some guys that should contribute.

of course. i forgot about fitzner on account of old age and alcohol.

There will be some transfers after this season. And CAM should show some the door. Fans bitch moan and whine after every game how bad some play or can't even get on the floor so be prepared CAM will make your day. At least two will move on. And one very shortly.

Transfers can and do happen every year. It's not a question of if, but who.

Regardless, Archie has watched an undersized team with no depth and little shooting flail through about a season and a half now. Some tough decisions will have to be made if things don't turn around soon.

My guess is by now he understands you cant compete in the B1G with one 6'8 forward, no depth, and a poor shooting team. You can argue depth is an issue because of injuries, except we don't know if any of the "bigs" can play. We don't know if DG will ever be an effective point. We don't know if anyone will be a legit threat from three point range. Which leads to some obvious conclusions:

* If your bench post players consist of 4 or 5 undersized projects, most of which you don't trust to play or they can't play because of injuries, you're in trouble
* If you have one legit post player at 6'8 you're going to get crushed inside in this conference
* If you have one PG you can consistently count on it's going to be tough to compete against any legit team
* If you can't shoot the three at a respectable rate teams will make you and your one legit post player to pay for it

I hope they figure it out. I hope some of these guys start to contribute and make the team better. I hope it's not a complete rebuild situation next year. But it's looking more and more like Archie will need to find some guys physically capable of competing in the B1G.

Romeo is gone he is projected top 10 pick. Brooks to IU will happen very soon
Not sure this works. Romeo has way too many holes in his game right now to be a top ten pick. Also, lots of doubt has creeped in regarding Brooks to IU. Not a done deal at all. Fingers crossed.

Romeo is the top NBA talent in the B1G.

Maybe that Archie knew Green wasn't going to stick around . . . .

Bank on one transfer if not more..
Few guys sitting the bench that think they should be getting minutes.. Along with family members telling them the same..

Is that a good thing? Or growing pains early in a coaching tenure?

Seems to always happen when a new coach and new system is brought in and the "old" guard finds out they won't see the floor or don't like the system the new coach has brought in. Smith i think will be one of those moving on after the season too. As will one more which leaves CAM some open ships. And he damn well needs to use them wisely. His job will be on the line.
