Since NIL contracts can't be based on playing or performance, those contracts probably have no impact on whether players stay or transfers.They have scholarships so they have an education guarantee at a minimum.
As for NIL, that's a completely different issue. I imagine it's a contract and ruled by those terms.

The NIL contracts should spell out the term, and I imagine they are usually 1 year. Neither side has much inventive to do one for longer, although I think I read early on that Isiah Wong may have signed a 2 year deal with the booster from Miami. I think he also came to regret that when Nijel Pack rolled in the next year having received a stronger-ass offer. Lolz.
