Have noticed we rarely even get past the 20, it seems. What gives? Should we be downing it a bit more? I can rarely remember starting past the 35 once this year.

Can anyone find stats such as these?

Agree. Kick return game has been less than even mediocre. Would like to see a drive start outside the 30 once in a while.

If memory serves I think we have downed the ball when kicked into the end zone almost every time. If it's short then you have to return it. It seems to be a strategy of not turning the ball over deep and when we are healthy being able to move the ball out. If you watch the returners they are basically just trying to get the ball to the 20 or so and keeping both arms wrapped tight.

Was looking forward to Laray Smith and his world class speed returning kick offs but that won't be happening in an IU uniform. KW did try it Laray's true frosh year but his first touch resulted in a fumble.
