Now that it seems Trump/GOP/MAGA will control the Presidency, Senate, House and the Supreme Court, I assume they will be able to successfully implement their agenda.

When I was growing up, the GOP was defined equally by policy issues (e.g. low taxes, cutting costs, strong defense) and cultural issues (e.g. so-called family values, anti-abortion, emphasis on Christianity).

Under Trump, it seems to me that fiscal responsibility is a lesser concern and what drives the MAGA base is cultural grievances such as transgender women participating in women's sports, or movements to put the Ten Commandments and Bibles in public schools.

Thoughts?

Both are important. We’re well on our way to winning the “culture war” (which was a no brainer). Now we move on to policy issues. I’m cautiously optimistic on that front. I think Vivek and Elon will have much more success than most here believe with DOGE. I think we’ll see a much smaller government by the end of Trump’s 2nd term. We should all be for that.

The culture our politicians purvey is important. Voters decided for a change of course. Not letting mentally ill men play sports against and use bathrooms with women is a winning proposition for the GOP.

They both matter.

Supporting cultural toxicity was not a good strategy by the Dems

Most people are the same. They want cheap gas and groceries. Public safety. Belief in an attainable American dream. To be left alone. If a guy wants to be tranny go for it. If a black guy gets discriminated against take the defendant to the cleaners. Plenty of lawyers champing at the bit.

They don’t want obnoxious climate zealotry
Shaming campus elites and celebs who can’t do. Just talk
Gov up their ass.
Kids indoctrinated

They just want normal. Squad politics is fringe lunacy. It needed the curb stomping it got
