Nope. HS state championships - 3 games at LOS Saturday. Looks like we're stuck with the cold.
The comments that follow are not directed at the elderly, small children or people with medical conditions.
Ok, first, we're not talking Green Bay in January. We're talking 20s during the game, very light wind and a 30% chance of light snow that you can just brush off. Those are not brutal conditions. Wear layers, a hat, cover your ears, wear gloves, double up on socks and YOU WILL BE FINE.
I've been to outdoor NFL games in December and a playoff game in January, all at latitudes north of Bloomington, and survived. No or little wind and staying dry are what matter. I've sat with my teenage son for a night football game with temps in the low 20s, no wind and dry conditions and been perfectly comfortable. I've also sat in wind, rain and 50 degrees and frozen my ass off. Yes, there were a couple of times I ran to the car at the end of the game to get the heat going, but I survived.
Enough with the weather! Move the game inside? Ridiculous. This will be good for the team (and the fans!) and help get them ready for what could be much more severe conditions if they're playing next month in State College or South Bend.

I think we can go ahead and include the elderly, small children and medical conditions here. It’s “all in” time for everyone. Every last fan in the Hoosier army show up and defend our homeland and die on this hill if we have to! It’s full participation this week.
The elderly are some of the toughest sumabitches around. They’ve fought wars. They’ll be there.
It was 60 degrees for the Michigan game, but there were some old people around me I was worried about!
Some elderly but not all elderly are that frail.
Why wouldn't they do a Noon start time? At least the damn sun is out.
Because the tv networks completely own college football and the ticket-buying fans get the shaft in multiple ways. What conferences and their individual member schools really deserve is for people to stay home and watch on tv, and let ticket, concession, parking, merchandise, and secondary revenues for the communities go to hell. Of course, we know that ain't gonna happen.
I'll be there, because I want to see us curb-stomp PUke live and because it isn't too inconvenient for me. But if I lived in Evansville, Cincinnati metro, Ft. Wayne, or The Region/Chicago I'd say the hell with it and watch from the comfort of my living room. Freezing my ass off, then driving well after midnight ( or paying outrageous rates for a hotel) isn't something I would do knowing I could stay warm, keep myself stocked with free food and beverages, save the gas money, get a full night's sleep in my own warm bed, and never miss a play on the tube. Eff the B1G for allowing a game to start after dark on the last day of November, and eff IU for allowing the networks take a dump on the heads of loyal fans.
No joke. Where the hell was the night game against Nebraska, Washington, or Michigan?
You take the money then you have to deal with the consequences.
Can’t remember which game it was, but one of those early season noon games was brutally hot. Then the Maryland game when it rained all day. Now we bookend this season with a freezing night game. I’ll be there, but I’m not sure how enjoyable it’ll be for my crew.
Hey ... don't worry about me ... 72 and too obnoxious to die. My guardian angel has been over worked for years. 😂
