Archie says everyone is hurting and you can hear it in his voice that everyone is hurting. We hear that everyone is still working hard and wants to right the ship and finish well. Nobody will say the locker room is broken and people are creating drama.

We know there have been tweets around the time this losing streak began from family members. Then Green was suspended and he tweeted something that could have been interpreted he was leaving. Losing is hard and it isn't difficult to imagine players are pissed and not in good moods. I think it goes deeper and has piled up to the point where we have lost the team

I would imagine Juwan is frustrated and worn out physically and mentally from carrying this team through a season of injuries and young players not on the same page. There could be frustrations that not everyone is doing what is good for the team. I don't see Juwan being the leader he was early. I don't blame him.

Archie has made comments of "people doing what is best for the team" and a reference of it not being the coaches vs the players. There may be several factions in conflict.

There isn't a simple fix for the team. The health of the team must have been a major factor, but it has become a bigger issue. It reminds me of what happened at UCLA.

This is my song for the day. Thank you to "Four Non-Blonds"!

"And so I wake in the morning
And I step outside
And I take a deep breath and I get real high
And I scream from the top of my lungs
What's going on?

And I say, hey yeah yeah, hey yeah yeah
I said hey, what's going on?
And I say, hey yeah yeah, hey yeah yeah
I said hey, what's going on?
Oh, oh oh
Oh, oh oh

And I try, oh my god do I try
I try all the time, in this institution
And I pray, oh my god do I pray
I pray…"

I've said this for several weeks.

Just from tweets I'm pretty sure Smith's dad is part of the problem. Is Langford's dad? I know Romeo - with all that talent - doesn't play hard. Why?

This team needs a leader. Badly.

LOL Romeo doesn't play hard. Talk about a blow hard statement.

Archie needs to get the same type of guys he got at Dayton. Star ratings be damned. Get guys that can shoot, rebound, and defend.

Well the over the top announcement Romeo had he just did not come up with on his own. His dad was very involved in that.

There is usually a central figure in drama. I heard Juwan mention how the team did everything together unlike other years where there were small groups hanging out. Something happened before the Maryland game.

It could be tied to Green's suspension, Smith's dad, a feeling that Romeo is too focused on the NBA, or someone slept with someone's girlfriend. Could the team be blaming the staff for the injuries this year?

We had a good leader with Juwan. Smart. hard worker, and has earned everything he has received. I feel it is beyond what one person can do to fix this team.

Lack of size will kill you in the Big 10. IU has the least amount of size in the Big 10. They are constantly at a disadvantage. Even Rutgers bullied us with size. Justin Smith and Juwan are 6'7, Juwan is maybe 6'8, and they get a majority of the big minutes. Trying to guard bigger players wears you down fast and zaps your confidence.

I think this offensive system doesn't suit the players, and that mentally wears players out. If you run an offensive system that doesn't produce over and over, that gets frustrating and players come to expect failure. I understand IU doesn't have shooting and penetrators, but there are other offensive sets than standing around the 3 point line.

Injuries take their toll not only on the injured players, but everybody else, especially if the rotation is small. IU's starting 5 have logged a ton of minutes, and that catches up with players physically.

I see a worn out team that doesn't show many signs of life anymore. The holes were there, anyways. I'm also not seeing much of a coaching response to fix things. Archie needs to throw caution to the wind, and these guys are going to have find some pride and energy somewhere.

With a bench of Moore, Forrester, Anderson, and Fitzner, what adjustments would you make?

We were leading the game until we had to use the bench. We could go big with Fitzner and Moore but I don't think that would help.

Only two options, drink heavily. That or recruit and be patient.

Help is on the way!!!

You make a good point. Maybe the horses just aren't there this year and there isn't a cavalry on the bench to help. Morgan and Romeo are pretty nice horses, but 2 players does not a team make. Fitzner and Moore are not productive bigs, and they definitely aren't physically imposing: not trying to be mean, just how it is. I kind of like Forrester, but he is a freshman.

I would at least try to run some other sets on offense. Motion, flex, something else. Move around, cut, set screens, try to get somebody open. I would recruit players to fill the holes, but that doesn't help now.

I gave up alcohol with the change in my diet. When I hit my target, I'll drink that one lonely beer in my fridge.

I picked a bad time to quit drinking!

Just curious as I haven't heard anything , has Morgan been seen at games? Morgan Miller, she seemed to be seen a lot at Dayton games and I haven't heard a thing or seen any pictures from this year. Makes one wonder a bit about possible outside troubles?

This is a poorly constructed team from go. While Phinisee is good, he is a freshman starting at point guard. Romeo is a player without a position. He handles the ball a lot but he isn't a point guard and at this point he isn't a shooting guard. When he dribbles it appears that the other four players stand around and watch rather than moving to positions on the Court where they are available to receive a pass and shoot. We don't have a second big man inside who can contribute to the Offense or play effective Defense. In fact this is a poor Defensive Team all the way through. We have now reached the point where we have people trying to do things they are not capable of doing. Anybody else remember the possession in the Rutgers game where Fitzner launched a 25 foot shot that wasn't close less than 10 Seconds into the shot clock? This causes people to be out of position and often leads to easy run outs for the other team because people are not in position to get back on defense.

They aren't properly executing the game plan and the offense they know. I wouldn't expect them to all be on the same page with any offense.

I believe we would be in good shape if the four on our bench were Hunter, Thompson, Davis and even Green. A couple of those might have been starters if they had been healthy.

The 5 that started Wednesday were the best we had available and possibly the best we will have all year. We should get Green back. Thompson and Davis would be nice, but it will likely be too little too late.

IU runs a dribble drive type offense that requires players able to penetrate and shoot, and, outside of Rob, IU doesn't have that. Other teams know we can't shoot and pack the lane. Thus, the offense just isn't suited to IU's personnel and they are set up for failure. I don't think it is a matter of proper execution, though they could move the ball around better and move quicker. If something isn't working, it is the coach's job to put the players in a position to succeed. An offensive adjustment needs to be made, and it hasn't happened. Maybe IU doesn't have the horses and nothing would work, I dunno: but, you still should try.

DeRon is a legit big man when he is healthy. Hunter is a top 50 kid: he would contribute something. Haven't seen enough of Thompson to know exactly what he would bring, but he is a pretty beefy kid and IU needs size.
