What if we actually win this thing?

Where do you think the committee would seed us then?

(I, obviously, know we're a long way from that...I'm just dreaming out loud...and wondering what the heck the committee would do with us)

Probably a 7 seed. Especially since I doubt the Sunday result will even matter with brackets already done jmho. I want to win the whole thing bjt its better being an 11 or 10 then that 8/9 game.

We could be working our way up to a very tough 2nd round game, vs. a 1 or 2, if we get up to a 7 or 8.

If they win the tournament, it will be a 5 or 6. 22 wins and a conference title? B1G with 9 teams in?
They aren't going to go from out of the tournament Thursday to being a 5 or 6 by beating Iowa/Rutgers and Purdue/Wisky/MSU. IU is probably off the last four in now as an 11 or 10 but they aren't jumping 4 or 5 seed lines because of two more wins. No chance.

Palm is apparently still saying that we're out without a win tomorrow. Has A&M in I believe.

I'd hate to see us in a 8/9 game , you can be sure we would paired up with Duke or Maybe Kentucky

If UK wins Sec tournament they take that 4th #1 seed I’d imagine. I’d much rather prefer Gonzaga as our 1. But UK vs Indiana in a potential Saturday or Sunday second round 6:40pm tip? $$$$$$$$$$$$$

IU once won the B1G conference and was a 5 seed. There are a lot of teams we would need to jump to be a 5 seed and winning the B1G wouldn't get us there. Not with 12 losses.

Agree. And not to take anything away from the past two wins, I agree with RMK that your conference season records says a lot more about your team than one weekend in a tournament. If we win the tournament, that is a great achievement in its own right considering what things looked like on Wednesday, but it probably doesn't change our NCAA seed that much.

Well Palm jerks it to dumpster porn so nobody should give a second thought to his shitty opinion.
Palm's take has to be the most ludicrous thing I have heard. Not only are we in we are up to a 10 or 11 seed at this point. We just beat the #1 seed in the freaking tournament for crying out loud. With his logic we would win the BTT and be in the play in game. What a moron.

Look at the teams on the 5-6 line of most brackets: Alabama, LSU, Ohio State, UConn, St Mary’s, Houston.

IU could definitely play into one of those spots. Not saying it’s going to happen, but absolutely not out of the question.

Yep, teams get screwed and others get seeded too high all the time. This years field has a lot of parity. Some strange things will happen with seeding like usual.

For this year, I'd take winning the BTT over sweet 16 (don't see us going beyond that, right?). We're about getting monkeys off our back right now (eg, Wisconsin).

Within about 30 minutes of the end of the Big Ten Championship game, the NCAA is scheduled to start announcing the bracket pairings.

Several sportswriters have observed in the last week or so that the conference tournaments don't have the effect you might expect, because the selection committee has pretty much already reviewed all the teams and made its decisions before all the conference tournaments are done.

Makes some sense if you think about the scheduling of the last tournament games on Sunday followed immediately by the big reveal of the brackets.
