The Indy Star published their 2024 ALL-USA Central Indiana high school football Super Team team.

IU commits listed are:
Evan Parker / OL- Carmel...
Drake McClurg / WR - Center Grove (IU Baseball commit)....
Davion Chandler / WR - Lawrence North...
Maverick Geske / QB - Brebeuf (PWO)....
Tyrone Burris, Jr. / DL - Warren Central...

And, there were some other interesting players listed... you might recognize their last names:

Eugene Hilton... WR / Zionsville - Commited to Wisconsin - son of former Colt, TY Hilton

Jerimy Finch, Jr. ... DL / Warren Central... yes, the son of that Jerimy Finch, the highly rated high school recruit who transferred to IU after being a starting LB at Florida... Young Finch, Jr. is only a Junior in school but already has offers from IU, Illinois, LSU, Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Penn State, Tennessee, etc.... sounds like he has the same talent as his dad... let's just hope he has his head screwed on a little tighter.

Madden Beirult... DB / Warren Central.... his dad, Justin Beirult, was a LB/S at W.C. too and then Ball State... Justin was taken by the Dallas Cowboys in the 6th Rd of the 2005 draft and was having an outstanding pre-season receiving praise from the Cowboys coaches along with national TV and print media. They felt he was their future at Strong Safety... However, in the final pre-season game he blew out his knee and was placed on IR... He tried to come back at the next years training camp but had to retire... He never got the opportunity to play in a regular season game...

Good list and memory. Finch,
Sr had committed to UM, I believe summer of ‘06. Then a month or 2 before signing day, changed and committed to Coach Hep and IU. Then on signing day in February of ‘07, signed with Urban and the Gators. Started as a true frosh, got hurt and then came to IU, even getting his mandatory “sit out” year waived due to hardship, getting to play right away in ‘08. Whatever he showed at Florida pre-injury, sure didn’t translate at IU in his 2 seasons.

Think Finch had Jerimy Jr and then another one by the time he got to IU. Was never right after that leg injury. Ended up playing for NAIA Marian and believe he was on the team that won the national title.

Didn't McClurg's dad play football at IU?

I'm still salty about Urban Meyer's comments on signing day--he said the night before signing day he was looking around recruiting websites and saw Finch's name. Somehow he got in touch with Finch, and as Meyer said "he committed to me sight unseen. He had never been to Florida, never met me. He just committed on the spot". I'm paraphrasing a little bit, but that is pretty much what Meyer said. Meyer, to his credit, knew Finch was not a safety--too stiff. He was moved to OLB immediately and played in some games. And should never have been returning kicks/punts. I always wonder what would have happend to Finch if just played at OLB. He likely would have had a much better career, but he only wanted to play safety.....

Right on!! I recall a close game vs MSU in ‘08. Finch playing safety. Makes a terrible break on a ball thinking he could pick it off. Totally whiffed on the ball and receiver. I wanna say, 60-70 yards later, totally untouched, the guy was in the end zone. After that the next few years, mostly special teams.
