Thet just mentioned Coach Mallory has started hospice care.
I did not realize he was sick, hate to hear that.
He is a good man,a good coach and an asset to the university.
Always admired the way he handled his dismissal.
Prayers to him and his family, thanks for all you did for the university.

Doesn't seem to have been "sick." He apparently fell earlier in the week, and required brain surgery.

Yes, prayers going up for Coach Mallory and his family. He always represented the university well. The video clips of his motivational "pep talks" to his team are awesome. My brother was present for one of his talks and he said, "Coach Mal had me ready to run through walls for him". Great memories of the best of times at Memorial Stadium too.

Bill Mallory is a total class act and a great guy. His IU Hall of Fame quote has always stood out to me, partly because Mallory's reaction to the end of his IU tenure is the opposite of Bob Knight.

"I will always appreciate the opportunity given to me to be the head football coach at Indiana University. I cherish all of the people with whom I was associated during my 13-year tenure at IU. Those people were my coaching staff, the players, the support staff, the administration, the faculty, and the loyal Hoosier supporters. These people made my experience at IU very enjoyable and rewarding. It has also been very rewarding to watch my former players, after they have graduated from IU, continue succeeding in their future endeavors. This has been even more rewarding than our victories and Bowl Games. I will always be thankful and appreciative to have been a part of the program I dearly love, Indiana University football."

That is for sure the opposite of Knight. If Bobby had that kind of class he could have been a great man as well as a great basketball mind.

He always had time for even the least of us.

He really appreciated the "average" fan.

You didn't have to be a quarter million a year donation guy to receive his full attention.
