Has anybody here ever been to a football game at Wake Forest? I just realized it's only an hr and 45 mins away from where I'm currently living so my wife and I are thinking about making the drive to support the team. Looking at their ticket prices, there are a bunch for as cheap as $17 and some mid-tier ones for $32.

Anybody know how the sightlines are at the game or if being halfway up (or higher) on the stands would be too far away? I know it's a much smaller university than the typical BigTen school so hopefully the stadium's small enough that it doesn't really matter what row you're in because everything has a great view.

Winston Salem in Fall can't be bad! I would definitely go, WF is a beautiful campus and ACC experience would be nice. Maybe not the same as B10, but that is what makes road trips so cool. Who wants everything the same? Go eat some barbeque, drink some beer, and enjoy the sights. I don't see a down side...

I was at Wake a number of years ago when my son was playing for Vanderbilt. It's a relatively small stadium. Of course, the closer you get to midfield and half way up the better. Not a lot of serious tailgating going on as I remember. However, the Charlotte Alumni Association Chapter is putting together a tailgate party before the game.We live in Hendersonville and are planning to go to the game.

Wake Forest University in Winston Salem, NC is about an hours drive from CKW's hometown of Maiden, NC. Expect a pretty good contingent of Maiden Blue Devil fans to there to support one of our favorite sons and his team.
BB & T Stadium is a very nice and beautiful small stadium. It was built is RJ Reynolds Tobacco money. There really are no bad seats and the South End Zone is a very large grassy bank where numerous families spread out their blankets and enjoy the game. The Winston Salem area is pretty neat with Interstate 40 being the main artery. The stadium is off campus a little bit, it is a across from the Lawrence Joel Coliseum.
An area you may be interested in is Old Salem, a very well preserved Moravian community. And yes, we do have Bar B Cue, pork that is....big debate in North Carolina will be do you want Western NC Cue with a Tomato based sauce, or Eastern NC Cue with a Vinegar based sauce. You decide. Hoping to have a great crown supporting the Hoosiers in North Carolina as they roll in 3-0....

I am also thinking about taking a road trip from Indy to this game for something diffferent. The wife (who isn't in to sports) likes the idea of a trip to the Carolinas.

I am a masochist and am making the 9 hour trip from Indy. Went to Bowling Green last year. Hope I don't double-down on my luck this time.
That stadium is only 31,000 capacity.
Was shocked at that seating capacity.

The tickets you are seeing are in the coffin corners about even with the back of the end zone. That's why they are $17. Have you tried IU ticket office?

I think better seating starts at $32.

The stadium is tiny and is literally the same design as MS. Even coffin corner seats are fine.

MrsSope and I are thinking about heading up from the ATL . . . it's a longer drive than I first thought, though, almost the same driving time as going to Bloomington . . . .and with MrsSope teaching we can't leave until later in the evening on Friday. But it's a tantalizing to have an IU game in the Souf . . . .

Thank you all for the replies. I think we've pretty much decided that this is too good to pass up and it'll be fun to watch the Hoosiers play in another venue.

I've been looking at tickets on this website and it doesn't seem to me like the only $17 tickets are the ones in the coffin corners like the previous poster said. Seems like you can get them in any section once you go up about 75% of the way. I'm sure it being the smallest BCS football stadium means there isn't a bad seat or sightline. Anyone know what section the IU fans will mostly be in?

The IU sideline is listed on the East Side at Wake's Bb&T Field.
There are plenty of tickets available in good seats there. You can get $30 tickets in those East Stands right in section "13" and "16."

Typically, visiting team tickets are not the best, and whatever Wake Forest is offering for visitors is what you would be able to buy through the IU ticket office. Likewise, IU is not exactly charitable to visiting teams, putting them in the upper level of the south end of the west side of the stadium, for example. My guess is that the coffin corners of a relatively smaller stadium are not bad seats, all in all.
