Sometimes "when" you play a
team has an impact on the outcome of the game. My Dad use to say "Sometimes it is
better to be lucky than good". I
wonder how much of the 4-1 start is Luck and how much of it is Good. My gut tells me it is a little bit of
both. I looked at this year as a
rebuilding year, especially after the Devon Davis injury. This year's team is even younger than
last year's team and many questions needed to be answered after a disappointing
season. Would we see a reduction in
turnovers? Will we hold our own on
the boards? Will the defensive effort improve? So
far the answer is yes, yes and yes.
Is this an NCAA tourney
team? I am not sure but I am getting
more hopeful with each game. This team is young,
talented and fun to watch. Sure
they have flaws but so far they are overcoming them with pace of play, ball
movement, spacing, 3 point shooting, few unforced turnovers and team rebounding. This team is improving as
the season progresses and that is a result of good coaching. There is a lot of basketball
left to play and the season could still go either way. I am hopeful they continue to improve
and can finish with 11 wins (7-2 Home; 4-5 Away) in the B1G. With a little luck they may win even more. Negative posters are quick
to point out the team's lack of execution of the game plan as poor coaching,
but fail to acknowledge CTC and the coaching staff when the players
execute it well. Is this Hypocrisy
or Tunnel vision for their own agenda? I haven't seen a Ramblings
post by Double Eagle in a while and I miss them. What ever happened to IUTerry? I really enjoyed the facts and analysis
in his posts. I come to this board because
I am an IU basketball fan and have enjoyed many posts and posters over the
years. There has been way to much grumbling
on the board this year IMHO. At
times, the Premium Board is downright unreadable. Some of you are having the same thought
about this post right now.
