Most of the early, "less important" games are televised on BTN+. How do I watch these games (in Atlanta)? Subscribe to BTN+? Access some streaming service (unknown to me)?

The only reason I would subscribe to BTN+ is to view IU basketball and football games. I have little interest in State Pen wrestlling and other like programming.

Thanks for any help?

What a bunch of shit. It's time to start boycotting the BTN. It started with the preseason games and now regular season games.
They wont see a dime from me. It's already fraudulant considering it's a state funded school. In regards to watching in state that is.

Occasionally, the BTN+ games are rebroadcast a couple of days later on BTN under the Student U (?) label/brand. The broadcast is done by students in the IU (whatever) program. Student announcers, student color people, cameramen, etc. Gives them a chance for some experience in the field.

You have to check to see if the broadcast happens, they're usually done at odd hours, ie: Thursday morning 11AM. BTN uses them for fill-in.

As mentioned above the games are rebroadcast on BTN. I don't remember any games not being rebroadcast though I expect it has happened. I do remember an IU game was scheduled as a rebroadcast but it was another team. Quite frankly, I don't care about watching the Nov. games live or tape delayed. DVR'm up. In most cases the outcomes of those games are not in doubt and I'm watching to see the new guys and how the team might look heading into the season.

for BTN+, a one month only subscription for November seems to be $15. I do wonder if the BTN+ games are can be watched on demand or only live. If they are on demand, I might pay the $15 for Nov. then cancel. Still, 15 per month is just way over priced, IMO. ESPN plus is only like $5 per month and they have some premium content like Tyson Fury boxing and soccer.

$15 is the total so you can watch every conference game, even the ones not involving IU. For just IU events it is $10 per month. I enjoy catching the other sports, in particular the baseball games.

I guess it depends how you look at it. Now a days anyone with an internet connection can watch every IU game. 20-30 years ago would those of us living across the country have been able to watch the games that weren't nationally televised?

Im failing to see the premium content...

You must not have seen Peyton’s places. In all seriousness I would for sure set a series recording of that show if it aired on espn. Probably a good decision by espn. That show alone I guarantee has drove subscriptions up. I hate the colts, but Peyton is a star. And became my favorite player the day he left the colts. Ahhh suck for luck. Feels good being right on that one. Biggest mistake the franchise ever made!

Dish Network recently blocked BTN, FOX Sports 1, and other FOX Sports stations in a price war with Dish Network. Hopefully resolved by Basketball Season.

I just pay the 10 bucks. if there are 2 games, it's like $2.50 an hour, which is still cheaper than going to see a movie.

Thanks for that info. Can I subscribe for IU only for $10 for November then cancel.

LOL. So you crying extends to those who like soccer and boxing along with those who support Archie.

I've watched the World Cup of basketball that Team USA layed an egg in, boxing and the Copa Americas. Those are premium events. Actually, I only watched the Tyson Fury fights out of the boxing. He seems to have spiced up the boxing world at least at the heavyweight level.

Soccer and boxing...that seems like premium content more for Mexico or the British...thats all I meant...

Piracy is also an option.

Trading Rison to draft Jeff George was a bigger mistake. When Luck was healthy he was good, just couldn't stay healthy.

The bigger mistakes were hiring Grigson and Pagano. Grigson is probably the worst GM in NFL history and Chuck is the NFLs Tom Allen.

I need Dish Network to renegotiate the price war with FOX Sports to get BTN back on the air before Basketball Season.

Tom Allen is a collegiate Chuck Pagano at this point in his career.

I put the LOL in because I was not offended by your post. Sorry I didn't read that into your post. I'm old and slow so you have to spell it out for me time to time.

We got an MLS team in Austin to start play in a new stadium. The Season ticket signup and now waiting list is well over 30k folks who plan buy up to 4 season tix. Guess if I want to go to a match it will via stubhub. I think Austin is also the top rated TV market for Soccer. I guess they are talking MLS. I got on board with the sport when I lived in Peru during the 1982 World Cup. I don't watch MLS but might when the Austin team starts. I follow the World events like World Cup, Copas, gold Cup, Eurocup though.

Sure. Just remember the date you subscribed and then cancel by that date in December. Or you can use a special credit card, such as a Netspend, and then not reload the card so there would less on it than BTN would need. I personally keep it for most of the year, but then have it lapse in the summer.

Last year I was pretty mad when I stayed up till 1 or 2 in the morning to watch a rebroadcast and they didn't show it.

Yes I do. But I don't have cable or satellite. Good memory my friend. I am proud I have never had a DVR. It's a badge of courage.
Why would you be proud to not use current technology? This reminds me of people that are proud of their ignorance.

I enjoy the DVR, but it bothers me to have the capacity limit on it. I would record IU games to keep, but won't because of that limitation. I wish they had invented a way to dub a DVR event onto a DVD. If they ever do, it will probably be well after I am gone!

some DVRs allow you to attach an external drive.

I have a DVD recorder. Can you not just play the DVR out into the DVD recorder. Are there limitations on that?

My son has recorded every IU football and basketball game in the last 15 years or maybe longer. He started in middle school using VHS. He has all of them on DVD now. He DVRs the games and saves them to DVD with the commercials removed.

I caught him selling games online and made him quit. He has traded games with people for the earlier games he missed. He will be crushed when the DVD format is made obsolete.

Thanks for the information. I will check that out. I asked the DirecTV installer and he said no when I asked him about that option. Maybe he just didn't know.

Good gawd that a lot of shitty basketball he’s recorded...
Maybe the next coach will change that for him/us
