Updated CFP Bracket

This is good and somewhat expected news. A few thoughts...

I'm not sure if PSU is justified being a 6 seed if IU is an 11 seed. They beat Illinois who gave up 49 points to Purdue and no quality wins.

Notre Dame lost to Northern Illinois and that should severely penalize them.

Clemson has two losses and no quality wins. A win against South Carolina would make things interesting but they should still be out.

The Georgia/Georgia Tech and Texas/TAM games could be interesting too.

Overall, I don't see IU being pushed out unless the committee wants us out.
As many of the talking heads have said:
“If IU had the name Michigan or Ohio State or Alabama across their jerseys, this wouldn’t even be a topic for debate.”

Brand recognition has a lot to do with all of the debate going on. People just don’t want to admit it.

1. The years of the bottom falling out on IUFB is running rampant right now. We have a damn good team that hasn’t been in the level of spotlight like we were Saturday. The true meddle of this team is going to be how do they respond.

2. Most of the “opponents” to IU being in the CFP are the annoyingly vocal ESPN SEC simps. All reasonable talking heads I’ve heard noted that IU was on the bubble for all of about 6-7 hours on Saturday until everyone else started crapping the bed.

3. We have zero bad losses. Most of the SEC “contenders” have at least one or more bad losses or near losses. Unless we absolutely shoot ourselves in the foot this Saturday, there’s no way we miss out on the CFP. Big 12 and ACC are one bid leagues at best right now.

4. Worst case scenario at this point, IMO, is something screwy happens with the SEC Championship and it bumps us down to the 12 spot. For example: Georgia loses to Tech but beats Texas in the SEC title game. That might not do it, but it would certainly make things weird in a hurry.

Because 15s beating 2s and the occasional 16 beating a 1 (I'm looking at you, Purdue) is one of the most exciting occurrences in sports.
Easier to do in basketball than it is in football. I think it would be very rare for that to happen in football, yet in basketball there seems to be at least one game that could happen.
