UCLA USC coming to the Big Ten *

I love that. There was a guy who hung around the indoor complexes when i was a kid like that. He always wore the number 737. Couldn't move much but would post up at the top of the box or along the boards in the final third. Had skills and touch on the ball that you wouldn't have imagined in a million years for a guy that heavy

I have to admit, the comments got me good

College athletics has now become just another professional league.
Yeah, I'm getting close to Marv's position on this. As much as I love IU athletics, this shit is dumb and has nothing to do with academics. Which is, you know, what a college/university should be focused on.

Also, the expansion of athletics on college campuses aligns with the explosion in tuition costs. Coincidence? Probably. But who knows.

Gonna be 24 total I bet. With a true East/West division
I love college football Saturday's. I've already lost all interest in college basketball. Haven't paid attention in years. I'd hate to lose college football too.

This year I might get into following the championship

I think it's ESPN+ which shows the majority of the games. Good coverage. That and the FA Cup. I've mentioned this before, I love watching the FA Cup for the League 1/2 matchups in some shitbox piss smelling rust bucket stadium in miserable rainy weather with mud pits in front of goal. You can literally hear the fans mocking the players and all kinds of shit. love it.

It's literally my favorite thing in sport. Some postal worker part time player is going to get the chance to kick the hell out of a guy on $300,000 a week

Calipari called it back when the Big Ten added Maryland and blew up the ACC - one big 64 team conference of “Power 5ish schools” that no longer shares the money with the “have nots”

They are saying each big ten team will get a $100 mil a year next go around

The names of the teams Marine FC beat are just hilarious.

Frickley Athletic
Havant and Waterlooville (literally sounds like a Dr. Seuss village).

I think they'll be more than just east/west. My guess is that it'll look similar to the pro leagues where there will be a B1G West, B1G Central, B1G North, etc.

Yep, at least in football and basketball. Between this and NIL, they're sort of giving up the ghost on the whole thing about athletics being a vehicle to get an education.

Maybe in the less revenue generating sports it'll still be about student-athletes.

Won't be much left. College soccer will become a waste of time sooner than later. Better off just staying in an mls academy and training than going to school. Do most baseball players go to college or the minors?

he’d just be a tool of Wall Street.

they’d have him doing all of their bidding in order to keep all Americans under their oppressive thumbs and to further fill their coffers.

signed, IGW
You forgot Vanguard and Blackrock.😂

Standing pat until they hear from ND. I'm hoping ND says no - they'll expect the B1G to kiss their ass like the ACC does.
Clemson FSU Miami unc to the sec. Big ten poach some more. Big 12 pac merge. 3 super conferences. Their own championship. No ncaa. ND left out. Can play in the ncaa with the leftover independents and the G5s

They'll be the permanent 4th member of the CFP, along with the 3 conference champions.

The media loves ND.

So, in basketball, 3 super conferences. Conferences tournament champs get automatic Final Four berths.

The other schools play a separate NCAA 64 team tournament with the winner getting the fourth spot in the Final Four. Winner is crowned NCAA Champ.

Is that what you have in mind?
