Typically, I don't care at all about workout videos on social media (or, about social media in general!). However, given some uncertainty about the status of Tucker DeVries following offseason shoulder surgery, this seemed noteworthy.

Tucker is not wearing any type of brace and he seemed just fine shooting the ball. That's good news!

Is that in Cook? If so, is that some sort of specialty shooting environment/background installed?

Reminds me of when CJ Gunn was working out and a couple on here were saying "CJ is all we need from the 2guard spot" lol.
Tucker and Lamar Wilkerson should compliment each other really well. I'd like to see DeVries at around 14ppg and Wilkerson at 12-13ppg with over 40% on 3ptfg%... Maybe this years team will resemble a Tom Davis Iowa team. Deadly from three point range with a few big guys down low. I'd hope for an Ncaa Tournament appearence which would be a nice accomplishment in year one under CDD tenure.

Not Cook. Looks like some inflatable dome gym… no idea where it is.
Looks like Coach Basye posted it, so I'd guess he's a shooting or rehab specialist and probably in the gym/locale he uses. Good to see Tucker rehabing with what appears a pretty full range of motion. Don't see how anyone sees this as anything but a positive, but also not surprised that some would.

It’s part of the Hoosier Connect Camps. They travel all over the state to do clinics. Not sure where this “bubble” is.

He is/was the camp/clinic director for Hoosier connect. They do paid camps and clinics all over the state. Tucker has been helping or is doing his NIL work. Win win.

I'm a sucker for a good IU bball workout video. I love them already. Ha ha.

Seeing Reed Bailey, out defending the perimeter in a good defensive stance, active hands, etc... in June... is good to see.

Foundational development, from May through October, is one of the bigger question marks I had with Woody's program. One 30 second X post... ha ha... I know... But it is good to see things like that.

But they're clapping more than Crean did

Staffing builds rosters. When you don't have one and probably haven't personally offered 20 scholarships since you became a HC, this is what you get. Bailey and Wilkerson where the two big fish and I promise when you see them standing next to real Big Ten players at their position, you will see how truly fd we are. The staffing debacle made this pretty much a throw away year.

So when Darian finishes top half of the league and makes the dance.. coach of the year?

I am all for criticizing a lack of success, but you are pretty loud on something that has no evidence or logic. Wilkerson scored 19 vs Baylor, 18 vs Indiana, 15 vs Pitt. Those are all P4 teams, right? It's also when he had no one else on his team to ease some of the pressure so teams are focusing on him, right?

Reed Bailey had 18pts 11 rebs and 4 assists vs Providence. 19pts 5 rebs vs Gonzaga. 9pts 4 rebs vs Arizona.

There are things that seem like a concern from afar when just looking at the team on paper (ala no real size) but what you are pointing out feels misguided. Let the coach put the team on the floor and if they're garbage, we will certainly judge him by the success of the team.

It will be interesting to see. And, sounds like this board will be shut down before the season starts, so there will be no one left to claim their predictions were right.

I’ve seen projections all over the board here.

One of the highest volume posters said that all we needed to do was hire a capable coach and our floor as a program was being like Wisconsin or PU. That we have a higher ceiling than either of those teams, but have just had some terrible hires. I’d probably say it’s more complicated than that.

I’m in a wait and see position. It seems the consensus is that we have plenty of offensive talent, and from a shooting and scorer standpoint we should be vastly improved over recent years. The questions come down to defense, lack of a rim protector/depth there.

What I would say is that if we don’t easily make the NCAAs it would be a disappointment to me. That’s a super low bar. It doesn’t matter to me that we have a new coach and a new roster. The new coach (per anyone here) is going to be a vast upgrade, And having a new roster? So what? It’s a roster filled with experienced players playing in their final year of eligibility. The following year we will again have a new roster, that is college BB now.

Yea.

This dude has been crashing out for over a month. It’s weird.

This is an absurdly negative take... and one example is you failed to mention DeVries and Conerway, who could be the best 2 new guys on the team. Bailey and Wilkerson should be good as well. Thats 4 really solid players... we aren't "truly f'd" in any way, shape, or form. We have a very solid roster, overall. It has some holes, for certain, but its very solid. The best addition might be Rod Clark, and we built the solid roster we have, largely without him. The future should be bright.

Tell me about the staffing debacle. And why did UK want Wilkerson so bad?

And if this is a "throw away year", can you not post for a year?

Of the 10 consensus All-americans this year, 6 started at a low or mid major, and a 7th transferred to a mid major before transferring back.

So 70% of the consensus AA team had mid major roots.

Johni Broome - Morehead State
JT Toppin - New Mexico
John Tonje - South Dakota St
RJ Luis Jr. - UMass
Mark Sears - Ohio
Walter Clayton Jr. - Iona

PJ Haggerty - TCU/Tulsa

Was Clayton or Broome an real SEC player?.. was Sears a real Big 12 player? Real big ten players? lmao ..

Much rather recruit high performing mid majors than low performing high majors with unmet potential.

As coach CIG says, production over potential.

Almost all of those games were 30+ point losses. Evidence or Logic? Hmmm!
