Trump Zelensky today.....

Beyond dumb. Putin has more leverage than Zelensky. You have zero clue on the Putin Trump relationship, what Putin wants, what Trump will give him, nothing.

Why don’t we let this all play out and see what the outcome is. TDS is so prevalent here and so dumb.
Your TDS doesn't stand for the same thing you're talking about.

The problem is people are saying this is something Z is doing to consolidate his own power, and that's just a lie. The law cancelling the election during martial law was written before the war and the implementation of martial law has to be approved by parliament, and has been 14 times.

For some reason, some political actors in this nation are interested in telling a false narrative about Z that makes him the bad guy. We should really be concerned with why that is.
Do you believe Zelenskyy is calling his own shots?

They’re literally repeating Russian propaganda and misinformation.

For sure i understand Z wanting the dems to win and his gravy train continuing. I do think it is wrong for Trump to possibly allow his emotions get in the way. If he truly is. If this can get resolved soon I think Europe will get over it in hurry. Lets face it Europe needs us as much or more than we need them militarily or economically.
Can't extort the US by threatening to expose the Hunter Biden, Kerry , Burisma evidence any longer.
If he truly wanted more cash, he should roll over on Biden, Blinken and Nod.

They would have him murdered long before Vlad could settle the score.

The little homo worshippers will be butt-rekt either way..

NATO's description of NATO-Ukraine relations is a good source:

NATO schmato. NATO is not paying for Ukraine defense, NATO can’t expel Russia from Ukraine, NATO won’t negotiate a peace. The war status quo is only draining Ukraine of human beings, destroying infrastructure, and causing misery. It’s draining The United States and its allies of funds.

Can you imagine defeating the Nazis when Europe was providing enormous economic support to Germany? Europe gave Putin 22 Billion Euros last year for Russian oil and gas. This is no way to win the war and was a circumstance Trump warned the U.S. and Europe about in his first term.

The only way this ends in a reasonable time and manner is tondo what we do best. Get into business in Ukraine.

But no . . . . .cuz Trump. Meanwhile the Democrats, never -Trumpers, and Europeans back Zelenskyy Over Trump. The same Zelenskyy who said a few hours ago “this won’t end soon”. Barf!

I’ll take isolation. Thank you very much.

Europe has now surpassed the US in military aid provided.

You were against isolation before the election or at least pushed back when I pointed out the isolationism among the MAGAs. You also pushed back when I pointed out the rising pro-Russia/anti-Ukraine sentiments. Why did you join them?

Why do you back President Trump’s support for Putin over his fellow Americans when he basically said poor Putin had to endure persecution of the “Russia, Russia, Russia,” case and Hunter’s laptop? That’s just nuts.

I want our President to do the right thing.

You forgot about the cost of Russian lives and the cost to their feeble economy (look at Russian GDP per capita, they're a big Mexico!).

Russia is vastly weakened over 3 years ago (with the cost of zero American lives), but recently were strengthened when they won a US election.

Russia is a net exporting nation.
Their economy has strengthened as their manufacturing moved to a war economy.
A huge part of domestic consumption is domestically produced, rather than imported. Their petroleum and mineral exports are reaching record levels, mostly in rubles.
The prize in this conflict is Russia.

The Fudds who parrot anti-Russia propaganda are fools.

PDJT and JD and Elon get this!

I was being facetious. The mineral deal is the opposite of being isolationist.

I don’t understand why all of us, regardless of politics, won’t urge Z to accept Trumps mineral deal. That will establish American influence in Ukraine for decades and counterbalance Russia’s.

Actually I do understand, opposing Trump on every issue takes precedence over reason and common sense.

Who is saying he shouldn't sign it? He's still on board. The only reason it wasn't signed at the WH is because Trump cancelled it and kicked him out.

Z wasn’t going to sign. The democrats didn’t persuade him to agree and instead supported him. No doubt Z found comfort in Democrat support and encouragement.
That's your take, but there's no support for it. Z went there to sign, gave every indication he wanted to sign, and even after he was kicked out, made it clear he still wanted to sign.

Your insistence that this was some sort of Democratic sabotage isn't based in any known facts whatsoever.

It should be part of the negotiations. I don't think that's what people are unhappy about. It's certainly not what I'm unhappy about.

And every Russian troop in the field knows what the Ukrops did to the civilians in the small, unguarded salient in Kursk.
You don't even want to go there after what the Russians did at Bucha.

And they haven't kidnapped tens of thousands of Russian children like the Russians took Ukrainian children

Bucha massacre

Main article: Bucha massacre
Executed civilians with wrists bound in plastic restraints, in a basement in Bucha, 3 April 2022
Russian forces north of Kyiv withdrew in late March, Videos emerged of bodies in the streets, at least twenty in civilian clothing.[67] AFP saw at least twenty civilians corpses in the street, all shot in the back of the head. At least one had its hands tied, Another 270 to 280 were buried in mass graves.[68][67] Police said on 15 April they had found 350 bodies in Bucha, most with gunshot wounds.[63]

Drone video verified by The New York Times showed two Russian armoured vehicles firing at a civilian walking a bicycle. A later video showed the body lying next to a bicycle.[69] The Economist reported a man trapped at a checkpoint who took artillery fire then was captured, beaten and tortured, then taken outside to be shot. He played dead until he could flee.[70] BBC News reported tied bodies of civilians at a temple, run over by a tank.[71]

Territorial Defense Forces released video of 18 mutilated bodies in Zabuchchia, Bucha Raion.[72] A Ukrainian soldier said some bodies had their ears cut off and the teeth of others had been pulled.[72] Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty reported a Russian "execution cellar" used by Russian forces.[73] Russian soldiers killed a woman and her 14-year-old after they threw smoke grenades into a basement where they hid.[57]

Russian tanks entered Bucha shooting randomly at house windows as they drove down the streets.[74] The New York Times said snipers in high-rise buildings shot at anyone that moved.[75] A witness told Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty that Russians "were killing people systematically. I personally heard how one sniper was boasting that he 'offed' two people he saw in apartment windows..."[76] Troops fired at civilians seeking food and water, witnesses said, and ordered them back inside without basic necessities like water and heat. Russian troops shot indiscriminately at buildings and refused medical aid to injured civilians, HRW said.[74]

Russian soldiers checked documents and killed anyone who had fought in Donbas or had tattoos of right-wing or Ukrainian symbols, said a witness. In the last days of occupation, Kadyrovite Chechen fighters shot at every civilian they met.[77] A resident said Russians checked cell phones for evidence of "anti-Russian activity" before they took people away or shot them.[78]

Associated Press saw charred bodies on a residential street near a playground in Bucha on 5 April. One had a bullet hole in its skull, another was the burned body of a child. They could not identify them or determine how they died.[79] Ukrainian investigators found beheadings, mutilation and incinerated corpses, and the next day three more bodies in a glass factory, The Washington Post reported. At least one body was booby trapped, mined with tripwires.[80] HRW reported "extensive evidence of summary executions... and torture" in Bucha and 16 apparently unlawful killings, nine summary executions and seven indiscriminate killings of civilians.[81]

The New York Times on 19 May released video of Russian paratroopers leading a group of civilians, clearly in Russian custody minutes before their execution. The video confirms eyewitness accounts.[82]

By 8 August 458 bodies were recovered, including 9 children; 419 were killed with weapons and 39 died of natural causes possibly related to the occupation.[83]

On 7 December OHCHR reported that the Monitoring Mission in Ukraine had documented at least 73 unlawful killings of civilians in Bucha and were still confirming another 105.[84]

Are you kidding?

The Democrats have said, are saying, and will say Trump is Putin’s buddy and Zelenskyy shouldn’t trust our president. The Trump/Putin theme the democrats keep hammering is a huge obstacle.

Hey I cannot find your post. Probably me on my phone. If you can tell me the post #, I will read. Thanks!
Too lazy to look up the number, but basically it was for Trump to suggest withdrawing both militaries from the contested regions and throwing the Russians a bone, like a port in Sevastopol. And the US would guarantee no NATO membership for Ukraine.

Make a DMZ out of the area, with possibly some plebiscite later for those regions.

I'm pretty sure Ukraine would accept those broad terms, if the withdrawal was witnessed and supervised by 3rd party countries.

Stopping being ridiculous. There is support for COs claim that Z wasn’t going to sign it.

I don't agree, but even if you're right, you're still dramatically moving the goalposts. The argument was that Z didn't want to sign, and the Dems encouraged him not to. That's the argument I am saying was unfounded. Now you're just shifting into generic "Dems are meanies!" complaints.

The US did a LOT of business in Russia prior to the Ukraine invasion.

How did that stop them from invading their neighbor?

Trump meeting with Putin without zelensky president and then taking a pro Russian position is the huge obstacle.

Nothing dems say or do amounts to anything close to Trump's own words/actions

How can you expect to make a deal with Ukraine in the areas where they have the valued minerals when they're mostly in Russian hands now?

How does that help Ukraine in any way?

Also, the fact Zelensky decided to start an argument with Vance is another piece of information that supports CO’s claim. Trump turned your brains into mush.
Most of us didn't see Z start an argument with Vance. Most of us saw it the other way around, just as virtually the entire rest of the world did. But even if you're right, and the failure of this meeting was all on Z, it still isn't evidence of what CO.H was claiming. It might be evidence that Z is bad at diplomacy (although the entire rest of his presidential term would seem to suggest otherwise), but it wouldn't be evidence that he was determined not to sign the mineral deal.
