I’m quite sure we couldn’t do that.No way we ship US citizens to Salvadoran prisons. Right?
Is this a Salvadoran offer or a deal? CNN uses both words interchangeably.
If the foreign confinement met 8th amendment standards perhaps. I’m unaware of any opinion about this. I’d argue no because the very fact of foreign confinement violates the 8th.No way we ship US citizens to Salvadoran prisons. Right?
except if the crime happens on jan 6I think it’s a great idea, Don’t do the crime! If you don’t want to do the time!
Or the Biden crime family!except if the crime happens on jan 6
You think the POTUS is concerned about violating some dusty old document?...the very fact of foreign confinement violates the 8th.
Dusty and old? Are you talking about the treaty of Ghent? You think the POTUS is concerned about violating some dusty old document?
That's rich given Trump's propensity for ignoring the constitution. But that's ok because he labels himself a republican.Dusty and old? Are you talking about the treaty of Ghent?
If the constitution, it is neither dusty nor old but a liberal might think so because you guys want gut much of it.
It's a good thing Biden didn't ever ignore it.That's rich given Trump's propensity for ignoring the constitution. But that's ok because he labels himself a republican.
When the text of the Constitution is inconvenient to Trump, or to any wannabe dictator, he will ignore it. This isn't hard to grasp.
What part of the Constitution has Trump violated or intended to violate? That's rich given Trump's propensity for ignoring the constitution. But that's ok because he labels himself a republican.
Amending the Constitution isn't unconstitutional. What part of the Constitution has Trump violated or intended to violate?
Here is what I know about the constitution and contemporary politics.
President Obama publicly lamented the fact that the constitution limited his authority.
The Democrats want to limit free speech by amendment.
The Democrats want to dump the second amendment.
The Democrats want to eliminate the electoral college and introduce the concept of a national election which disempowers states.
The Democrats want the change how the senate is selected by also disempowering states.
Neither Trump or the Republicans have launched such a fusillade against the Constitution.
quoting (ahem) YOU: ...very fact of foreign confinement violates the 8th.What part of the Constitution has Trump violated or intended to violate?
Link? Are you talking about hate speech? Incitement to violence has never been fully protected speechThe Democrats want to limit free speech by amendment.
Bullshit. 2nd A is fine with limiting access to hand grenades and rocket launchers, for example. The simple argument is that modern military style semiautomatic weaponry out to be categorized similarlyThe Democrats want to dump the second amendment.
The EC has been debated for a couple of centuries now, often switching sides as to who is for it and who is against it. A very large part of the reason for the EC was to give an avenue for political elite to correct "mistakes" made by the populaceThe Democrats want to eliminate the electoral college and introduce the concept of a national election which disempowers states.
FYI, it appears that the part about taking American citizens is an offer that the administration hasn't suggested they would try to take up. I think what is actually happening here is El Salvador is trying to get us to offshore our Prison Industrial Complex to them, because they need the fees we would pay them to shore up gaps in the funding of their prison system. So they are happy to take anyone, so long as they can legally put them in a prison cell and send us a bill for the trouble. Is this a Salvadoran offer or a deal? CNN uses both words interchangeably.

Spot on.Amending the Constitution isn't unconstitutional.
@mcmurtry66 , this might be our grand idea for Nigeria! Couldn't come at a better time since you have so much free time now. Let's get a proposal together. I've always thought I'd make a great prison warden.FYI, it appears that the part about taking American citizens is an offer that the administration hasn't suggested they would try to take up. In other words, @larsIU, do all the work and circulate your ideas by Monday for us to review.
Technically correct . However, I’m not a bit enthused about amendments that water down important rights and privileges now baked into the system for the sake of concentrating power in the federal government.Spot on.
