Trudeau resigning

When push comes to shove, I think the Libs are simply going through what the Tories did in the UK and the Dems here: shit is expensive, people are sick of it, and the guys in power are taking the blame.

Here's Axios' take:

Because Trudeau is the shit lib of all shit libs. American shit libs are card carrying NRA members compared to Trudeau.
While a simple take at its core, I agree with it. The guy is off the rails shitlib and completely out of touch with what matters to a western civilization and its Citizenry.

His bullshit about how Kamala didn’t win because of misogyny and racism was the last straw. He’s woke for woke sakes and all the Canadians I know (who are actually quite liberal) despise him.

This common sense steel worker just eviscerating Trudeau to his face and his feckless responses was enough for me. What a weak man.

I agree. I was having some fun with Mark. I see it as a clear signal the country is shifting back right,
which is needed. I’m a fan of the Pierre Poilievre and hope he’s the next PM. He reminds me of DeSantis, but more likable and he’s a Bitcoiner.

Nine years is a pretty damn long time to lead a democratic country in the 21st century. Eventually the cycle catches up with you. Will be interesting to see how history views him once this cycle passes.
I'm disappointed .

I was so looking forward to the bullying Trump was going to administer to Fidel Jr.

That's not all thats in there. Equal parts of weed and booze in me.

PM Trudeau resigning is a great topic of conversation. I just don't understand the "thank god" part. Unless the OP is from Canada?
We share thousands of miles of border with them & have many common economic interests just to name a couple of reasons it would be negligent or willfully ignorant not to care who their political leaders are & what policies they espouse.

Buried in that clip is the worker in this ambush/photo op/poorly managed encounter bitching about paying $50 per person to go to the dentist. A whole $50.

So that's what they bitch about in Canada. Huh, never woulda thought.

$50 per person. $200 for his family of four on top of his 40% taxes on a steel worker’s salary. While Comrade Trudeau gives his lazy neighbor a free visit. You’re ok with that?

I think he was pissed about the $50 fee after the years long wait when he pays 40% in taxes to have "free dental".

His bitching method is spot on 100% canuck. You couldn't tell, but he's pissed.

I'd have to see all the math. We're just bullshitting here. And tons of lazy Americans get free visits.

I have a high deductible plan so $50 is cheap for me. We keep talking about the evil that are taxes yet there seems to be a large part of Western Civilization (as you pointed to earlier) which feels like this is the way and have, while not perfectly, kinda proven that at least as health insurance** is concerned, our way sucks.

**not healthCARE, obviously the envy of the world.

No I get it. But he's still bitching about a $50 dental visit. It's not the lede but it made my eye perk up.

He clearly lost the country starting in COVID and couldn't recover according to this chart.

Some good data. I find it interesting that most breakdowns (age, gender) moved in unison more than I would have expected.

And imagine how pissed you’d be if your effective tax rate was 40% and you still had to shell that out. That’s the part you’re missing. The socialist healthcare is supposed to be a panacea - it’s anything but.
Socialist healthcare. That's not what I'm after.

I'm after socialized health insurance/payment. Now, if that is the same thing to you, ok. But I think you'd admit our current system is wildly inefficient in both delivery/access and payment/coverage. Why? B/c it's an industry. Yep, get that too.

I'm at sea on this one. I could be talked into the Singapore model or France/Germany. The UK? Nah, pass.

Or some combo that is uniquely our own. But efficient and more impactful to more people. I think this is possible. And I think it involves government intervention.

All systems have weaknesses and strength. Our strength is that we have the very best doctors and practitioners in the world and a robust backbone of teaching and clinical universities that are the envy of the world. That comes at a price of higher cost. I agree re access but there’s no magic way to solve that other than entitlements and socialist programs which can legitimately hurt our value proposition. At a certain point we need to have a way for those who are struggling economically to access the system without punishing those that pour their blood, sweat and tears into working to not be better off than the lazy neighbor that does nothing other than mooch off the system.
