Transfer Portal Targets

Thought this guy couldn't pass well enough to be our QB,, but I looked at his stats this year,,,,wow,,,,,26/35 (74.3%), 275 yds, 5 TDs, 1 int, 181.7 ER......also, 242 rush yds, 6.4 ypc. He's obviously a tough run first kind of guy, but geez..........

To give some context to the #s above....the majority of his passing and rushing yards were in 3 games;

--Kent St.....6/9 for 83 yds, 45 yds rushing

--at Wisconsin.....11/13, 98 yds, 98 yds , 28 yds rushing

--at Purdue....5/8, 58 yds, 56 yds rushing

He’s a true dual-threat QB. Todd Centeio and Jordan McCloud had some great success in Cigs system as dual-threat QB’s.

THREE incompletions against PURDUE?!

Sounds disqualifying.

J/K , would love us to get him. He was a 5.7 rivals coming out of high school, highlights show some good stuff at Penn State too.

It’s fun to imagine a guy like him in that offense. Just another wrinkle to add to all the other wrinkles in the offense. But I really value a guy like Rourke because the threat to pass always trumps making plays on your feet.

LMAO. Now I wonder what Juju Lewis thinks now. Wasn’t he wanting a guarantee to be the starter or was that just rumor? Or was his signing just about money?
I forgot about that as well. When I said he was a perfect for CO, I was referring to people saying he was "too cool for school" in his approach on the field. He and Prine will be competing for the spotlight.

Oh JuJu...what have you done?

My concern with Pribula is can he pass the ball well enough???
From the games I watched this kid, he can pass. He’s more of a Peyton Ramsey type in that he isn’t going to bomb away but he he is accurate and fits the ball in tight windows. Makes the intermediate throws, can get out of trouble. He’s gutsy and has moxie. Honestly, we could do a he’ll of a lot worse. They put him in a lot of Wildcat stuff around the goal line. He’s no slouch. He just happed to be backing up Allar for his last 2 seasons.

Ju ju doesn’t care. He’s about the limelight and the big bag of money. He’s an immense talent but something tells me Cig wouldn’t be catering to kids who try to dictate things.
The guys he had this year were a great fit because they share the limelight, unselfish and put team above self.

Personally, I'm greedy... I'd do my best to bring them both in and have them compete for the job in Spring, with the 2nd team guy hitting the Spring Portal...

It's Extremely unlikely that either guy would go for that idea but it's a thought...

Mendoza is the clear #1 in terms of verifiable passing game production...

Pribula holds more promise in the run game...

Should be interesting...

I’m not a big Pribula guy, but then I’m kind of an “Allar skeptic” to begin with and if Pribula can’t beat out Allar then I’m not that excited.

If Cig and Shanahan like him, fair enough. Personally I’d probably prefer Noland (I’m not counting on Mendoza at this point).

He’s a much better athlete than Peyton Ramsey but that’s a decent comp.

I've always felt the same about Allar (but he has looked better this year)...

My concern with Nolan is that he couldn't even break into the 3rd string slot over there and is all "potential" and no FBS production (yet)... I'd pass if I were Cignetti unless he just can't find anyone out there that matches his production standards and just wants another competitor at the position in Spring ball...

I hear ya, but remember that Joe Burrows had to transfer from OSU to get playing time.

Bringing in Noland would likely cause at least one current QB on the roster to leave. Whatever, to me the only probable “difference-maker” imo that’s been connected to IU is the older Mendoza, and I get the impression that he might end up at UGA or hometown Miami. I just don’t view Pribula as being in that same category. I see him as being in the same category as Jackson.

If anything I’m more concerned with IU’s non-QB recruiting than the potential QBs they might bring in. Losing Hopper to a G5 school was disappointing, and I think they still definitely need at least one legitimate edge rusher (Lawson from UL is another interior guy). I would also like to see at least one more WR sign, as well as multiple OLs. And it would be a huge get if they could sign Maldonado.
