He'd only been in the job a year, so I think that's why UM, UK and Lville didn't look at him. Of the jobs listed this year, I think us and TX A&M are the only reasonable upgrades, so while it's just another effort by someone with an agenda to make him look worse, it really doesn't. Two realistic landing spots and the other one did pursue him.

It's not a lack of logic. He's one of the top guys in the country. He's at a school currently that is a 'less than' as it relates to college basketball. So you have a top coach, who has a blue blood-level ceiling at a school that doesn't have the past success, current NIL or other resources as a bunch of other schools and he doesn't even get an interview/call?
Why. what is so special about those jobs. He proved he can be successful at Ole Miss until he gets a better job offer that fits what he wants long term. He turned down offers while at Tech until Texas opened up. Sampson is like 70 so Houston seems way more logical for him and he could wait it out while winning at Ole' Miss which did as well as any of those teams. Timing is big. what if those UK/UL jobs last year opened this year. I expect he'd rather live in Houston than Louisville. UK is a different animal and so would KU. Also, he understands the brand IU brings.
Maybe because every one of those schools, except for Xavier, has been to at least one Final Four. Something Ole Miss can't claim.

Maybe. But the rev share and the amount of $ that Big East schools might be able to put towards hoops could make a difference. I read yesterday, in discussion about the House settlement, that MOST schools seem to be going with a 75/20/5 split between FB/MBB/WBB. That's only about $4mil for MBB. Big East schools are going to double that (the decent ones).
I get that. He knows as much about what calls were received by Beard as he does about about the incident that got Beard into the mess he is digging out of. There are reasons he got a 6 year extension at Ole Miss and it is probably not just A&M that came after him.

I mean, I kind of agree. Maybe. I think Maryland and maybe even Minnesota have a higher ceiling than Ole Miss. Minnesota has a load of untapped potential.

outside of Duke, ACC is scary and definitely the B10 and SEC are preferable if you're not talking about Duke or UNC. Big East is also there because you don't have to split revenue with football. But, The B10, Big East and SEC, just in general, are where coaches want to be now.

I believe they WERE UF students, but the actions didn't happen within a university program or activity, which is the strict scope of Title IX.
We were told over and over during our search Indiana is not a good job anymore and no good coach would want to come here so why would one want to go to Iowa? Are you telling me Maryland and Utah are now better jobs then Indiana? I thought P5 coaches are happy at their current jobs a and will not leave and Kentucky and UL were used as examples over and over again.
