There will definitely be pain. Hell…there was pain my household trying to pay for a mortgage and 2 automobile payments. Had to withstand the pain but have now been debt free for a decade+.

For the last four years, the pain caused by high prices on low income families was evil. Now, the increased pain under Donny is for the good of the country.
Who said it was good? It’s just an acknowledgment that when one is in debt there will be pain.

There is nothing to be gained from a trade war. Not in the short term, not in the long term. There is nothing but bloodletting.
Sure, we’ll hurt adversaries like China. But we’ll also hurt allies like Canada, UK, and Mexico. Most importantly, we’ll hurt ourselves.
And for what?
There are things Trump does or wants to do that I’ll support and defend. But this is just an awful idea all the way around.
I’m definitely excited to see him gut the gov and do some radical restructuring. See where the money is going etc. This may be the fundamental change we desperately needed. But if it’s a bust it’s a good thing he’s old bc he’ll be the most hated man in the country. What people voted for was very plain. Close the border and reduce everyday prices. No one gave a shit about the but the economy but the jobs. Prices. That was the issue people cared about. They didn’t vote for all this

I don’t think any of it will work or actually be implemented for any real amount of time. They will be bored soon and we will go back to the think tanks and lobbyists running the government.
It is interesting to see how quickly we hate government “cuts” when it goes from a talking point to possible action…even if it’s in theory only

This is going from a theoretical cajole to something that could have tangible negative effects.
Sure, it will likely hurt them more than it hurts us, but to what end? I haven’t even heard a tangible outcome Trump desires from all this.
I think many of those that voted for him will be fairly patient with Trump & inflation, prices, etc. so long as he keeps making folks like you cry for the next 4 years. 😁

Don’t get me wrong. I think tariffs are generally stupid. But I’ll eat my hat if Trump tariffs the country into an affordability crisis. Just not gonna happen. He’s responsive to the will of the people.

I don’t think it can ever be stopped. We an only make trafficing more difficult and costly. Learned that in books and movies.
