You put screws in to heal a fracture. It helps close the gap to calcify the bone faster. He had a hairline fracture but those can be removed in under 10 days or they'll back out themselves.

Why on earth would we take those plays away? We made big plays. It’s a team sport and they stepped up. I hate the logic of dismissing plays we made to diminish the result. We had a hard fought game that we controlled throughout.
Because if you don’t have those plays, this offense struggled. That was my point. That’s how much of a drop off we have from Rourke to the next guy.
Who says we wouldn’t have those plays anyway? We have an extremely efficient team for those reasons.

He's throwing... I wonder if the question is when is the thumb strong enough to take hits and land on the ground.
Having those plays allowed us to pound the ball with our run game. The game changed because of those plays, so we can’t say that the rest of the game would have remained the same without them. If we didn’t have that punt return then we would have another possession and who’s to say that our run game would not have continued to be effective for a score. Plus, we would have run down more clock and they wouldn’t have had time to make a run. There is a whole world of hypotheticals we could play with, but the offense was in less demand because the team elevated to the moment.
Rourke is better than most QBs for sure. He's been extremely high level. We need him to be great. Tayven isn't chopped liver though, we can still be very good and win all the same games.
Cig seemed to take some of it on himself and staff, that Washington had a different defensive gameplan then expected and second half we tossed some of our original plans out the window. And we don't know what our offense would have tried at different scores as already mentioned.
I thought Tayven did a nice job. If he's in for another game I still feel good.

Yeah Cig said at some point you throw away the gameplan and just evaluate what’s working.
The offense was not efficient until we went to 95% run offense.
I think Tayven will continue to get better as he gets more reps. He did fine yesterday and will keep us rolling at MSU.
Tayven did okay, but a tough road game, I really hope KR is back.
Tayvon is not Rourke. And, that’s to be expected. Age and experience. He doesn’t see the field or progressions like Rourke. He had 124 passing yards. They pressured him exactly like I thought they would and played out like you would think for a guy not getting many reps.
Saturday will not be an easy game,Michigan St is gonna be ready.
Funny how we have suddenly gone from one of the worst programs in NCAA history to we can take a conference opponent on the road lightly in one year.
This is a trophy game. Nothing easy about it.
Did we take Washington lightly? I’m not saying to take anyone lightly, but if he’s questionable would you rather risk it against a lesser opponent than Michigan or OSU? Or at least, keep him ready if needed?
I’m all about having Rourke healthy down the stretch, as I don’t believe we have as good a chance vs Michigan/OSU with TJ as we do Rourke, but vs MSU its not as much a concern.
At the end of the day, he’s only going to play if the medical staff says he’s ready anyway. But if I’m Coach, I’m holding him back. But, I’m not so we’ll see.

If he’s questionable then he probably won’t play,which I assume would be the case no matter who we were playing.
Didn’t mean to call out anyone,I heard fans in the stands yesterday talking about how next weekend was going to be a cakewalk.
I hope I’m wrong but I just don’t see that happening no matter who the QB is.
If he’s cleared to go, he’ll go.
CCC will tell you the same as any other coach, the most important game is this game because it’s the one we’re playing this week.
Yes, I don’t see this as an “easy” game at all, MSU just beat Iowa soundly up there, while Michigan isn’t typical Michigan, MSU probably should have beaten them in Ann Arbor last night. MSU owned time of possession 37 minutes to 23 minutes and outgained the Wolverines 352-265. MSU has been playing well of late, and it will be our first true “ hostile” environment (UCLA and Northwestern were not).
Rourke will play if cleared, if he isn’t cleared he won’t, who we are playing has nothing to do with it .
