I painfully went back and watched a little bit of tape on our defensive performance. I did this because I had predicted that Covington and Scales would dictate the flow of the game. Obviously that never occurred.

Here's what I saw, I saw Scales have perhaps his worst game in two seasons. He never bounces off of RB and it occurred several times in this game. The dline couldn't get off of blocks like they had been versus way more physical teams than Purdue.

In a nutshell, Indiana was exhausted, injured and physically shot to pieces. It's very obvious if you watch the tape that this GD schedule absolutely KILLED this team. Recruiting must improve or this will be a trend playing in the East. Purdue entered that game so much fresher, it's sad that this is where this conference has gone.

I truly think it would be in Indiana's best interest to open their season with the Bucket game. Indiana will get blistered playing them at the end of the year after playing the East schedule.
