Our entire coaching staff should be embarrassed. They should feel lucky if any of them have jobs tomorrow. Wilson is the head coach and needs to go first. Lose a 25 point second half lead to a bad Rutgers team, without their best player?
B12? Does IU football even know what conference they are in?Our entire coaching staff should be embarrassed. They should feel lucky if any of them have jobs tomorrow. Wilson is the head coach and needs to go first. Lose a 25 point second half lead to a bad Rutgers team, without their best player?
Why does that prove anything? They won't have a new coach until after the season, the fans won't show up in greater numbers, and the kids who play won't benefit in any way from it. It might make a few fans feel better, but that's not the priority. Get to the end of the season and evaluate him, then make the decision.Maryland fired Randy Edsell last week, why can't Wilson be gone tomorrow?...because Maryland expects more out of their football program...

So you're going to fire a guy with a winning record just over half way through the season because they blew a big lead and lost at home? What good does it do now, other than to make you feel better?Evaluate him? I think we have enough of a sample size at this point to come to a conclusion.

Come on, you're making yourself look bad...you've seen KW for several years now, and tell me where we're going to pick up another win other than Purdue?... the time to make a change is now...So you're going to fire a guy with a winning record just over half way through the season because they blew a big lead and lost at home? Maybe not, but that's far more likely if you fire Wilson now than in 6 or 7 weeks. This team won't win again this season. From 4-0 to 4-8. That's IUFB.
Firing him now makes it much more likely that the season falls apart. The only winners are armchair quarterbacks, and they're the last people to know what should be done. Let him finish the year and then they can decide what to do.Come on, you're making yourself look bad...you've seen KW for several years now, and tell me where we're going to pick up another win other than Purdue?... the time to make a change is now...
Or the players and fans rally around the interim coach whom will likely be better than Wilson anyway....you sound just like a Crean supporter who fears change because it means starting over...believe me its for the best, and the sooner the better...Firing him now makes it much more likely that the season falls apart. It wouldn't be for the best sooner, and the interim coach would be on the current staff, meaning they have a big hand in what's going on. Makes no sense to fire him now. It's just an emotional reaction that cooler heads wouldn't consider.Or the players and fans rally around the interim coach whom will likely be better than Wilson anyway....you sound just like a Crean supporter who fears change because it means starting over...believe me its for the best, and the sooner the better...
Fear. The. Change. It wouldn't be for the best sooner, and the interim coach would be on the current staff, meaning they have a big hand in what's going on. Makes no sense to fire him now. It's just an emotional reaction that cooler heads wouldn't consider.
I don't fear it. I just believe in making it when it benefits you the most and when your emotions aren't the primary driver of your decision making. Those things get you a far better result in the long run.Fear. The. Change.
I would suggest you go back to your board and read all the posts like "Are you really happy about beating Indiana?", "It's Indiana" and talk about who you know you'll be able to beat the next few years. If IU sucks so bad, can put up 52 points on you and you need a last second field goal to win, then RU sucks almost as much. There is no denying that.Did you see Rutgers CRUSH North Carolina in their Bowl game last year? We also had very close losses to Wash St (now 2-1 in Pac12) and ranked MSU. RU has also won like 7 out of 9 Bowls in last 10 years.
We may be down a little this year, but let's be real.
Is Greg Schiano available?
He turned around Rutgers in 5 seasons and he makes Kevin Wilson look like a Pop Warner coach. Maybe he's ready for another rebuild?

I
Being real is that Rutgers was and is nobody in the college football picture. I don't know anyone outside of the state of New Jersey who shivers at the thought of playing them. Even we (and that says a lot) penciled them in as a "W" for us this year.
What good does it do to fire the coach during the middle of the season because you will just promote an assistant and be running the same offense and defense.Come on, you're making yourself look bad...you've seen KW for several years now, and tell me where we're going to pick up another win other than Purdue?... the time to make a change is now...
