These white outs, black outs yellow outs or whatever color you pick to dress up the crowds

Kendrick Perkins has some Shannon Sharpe in his commentary game. he laughs at himself a lot, I guess dropping one liners, but I can't ever understand what the hell he said

Mike Davis was right Conley isn't that good. hard to believe a guy is still in the league from the Davis era.

But does he have the 19 year old game???

no, he was to stupid to realize Conley and oden were a package deal, basically just recruited Oden
Conley and Oden should have both been Hoosiers. Mike Davis proved incompetent. He never should have been IU’s head coach. The IU Athletic Dept. caved in to the supposed demands of our returning players. Everyone associated with IU but Myles Brand was in a state of shock over Knight’s sudden firing after such a relatively insignificant, overblown-by-the-media event on the steps leading up to Assembly Hall. No one was thinking rationally when players threatened to walk out if their demand (real or just imagined) wasn’t met. My guess is that most players would have stayed once a legitimate, well-known head coach of proven record was announced. When so, IU’s cherished basketball program wouldn’t be in what appears to be a never ending, dismal carousel of despair we recognize today, so dizzying.

Life is “funny” sometimes (no Joe Pesci explanation needed) with its narrow road in turns and twists of curvy passage peppered in obstacles of fate.

Murray Sperber wasn't shocked. He and Brand enjoyed some Chardonnay and smoked some Virginia Slims afterwards.

I've never really thought of this until now, but do you think Doninger had a heads up on what was coming or did Brand drop it on him like he did RMK?

Tyler Zeller went to North Carolina because he didn't want to play for Coach samscum. Sometimes it is just timing and fit.

I had forgotten that infamous name from the dark past, Murray Sperber. That name alone is a call for vigilance. Imagine a chew-spittingMarlboro Man being offered a Virginia Slim.

That Cody Zeller went to IU because he wanted to play for Coach happy-clappy surprised me. We haven’t had anything to get really excited about since Cody’s presence a present.

the Jordan's Birds Kobe's , are built different. Edwards will never have that drive. the fact that in his early 20s and has been involved with about 4 paternity suits tells me hes a dumbass
Him trying to pay all 18 years of child support up front was the wildest thing I've heard in awhile. Still don't know if that is true, but sure fits the bill for Ant man. Could for sure see him saying here is a few mil, never wanna see you again.

He either doesn't understand inflation ie his children will go with less in the future or he does understand ie is a cheapie and doesn't want to pay more money down the line

It shows us how slimy Calvin Samscum was and most likely is

That's a fair point, but what do you think of Jordan's passion for several types of gambling? Wouldn't that be a distraction?

(The 30 For 30 on this topic was airing last night.)

Ant has a long way to go to catch Calvin Murphy:

The question is why would anyone want to -- even "just" a couple kids are a lot of work.

Perkins is now doubling down on his prediction that there is no way the Pacers can beat the Knicks in this series. Perkins' primary argument is that Brunson is unstoppable.

However, the depth of Perkins' reasoning was revealed this afternoon when a cohost got him to predict how many games the Pacers-Knicks would last. Perkins predicted the Knicks would win in six games.

Seriously. Any analyst that believes a team can force a series to go six games should not be saying there is "no way" the same team can win the series.

That wasn't going to happen, especially with the timeline.

What I hate about white outs is -

I like to see my favorite teams fans in all their glory for the biggest games. Decked out in the colors and whatever their usual is, cheering, showing the excitement of a big game. Organic. Natural excitement.

Instead some marketing gnome decides - 'This is a big game!' and also chooses 'I think we'll all wear white!'.

Yeah, no... Let the fans decide, not the marketing department.

Why wasn't it going to happen? What is it with this "timeline" you speak of?
Knight was fired too late for them to do a proper search and go through the whole hiring process. Not to mention that under the circumstances, no legitimate, well-known head coach of proven record would have come here.

Okay, I get the timing part, Sept 10, 2000 not being real convenient for a normal search, but I think a bigger name coach than young IU assistant Mike Davis could still have been found, perhaps one recently retired. Mike Davis was not built as a qualified coach for the long haul at IU. Myles Brand didn't know enough about the college basketball game to appreciate the late firing left us handcuffed trying to find a respectable replacement. If he did, he didn't care. We have yet to fully recover from the dastardly deeds of our dark past.

He will ask me why I should be allowed into Heaven and I will say because Jesus washed my sins away.
