Basically a "STFU or we will unleash our guns on you" vibe.

Like, "yeah, sissy Libs, see these slaughters? You're next! if you don't Butch up and start buying American UltraMagaExceptionalism."

It's sick.

And from the God people no less.

SICK.

Since this thread is completely useless, I’ll use it to ask, why was the highland park thread locked?
It couldn’t be because the 3 people on the right and 3 people on the left that ruin every thread were involved.

If so…they should all be locked.

I’ll try to do better and ignore it. Gets frustrating when I’m called out when I’m not even responding to one of them. My first post in that thread was defending Hoodat.

Doesn't the Left use this situation to give us the vibe,"we are gonna outlaw your guns and you better turn them in"? None of us wants crazy people to have guns. I said before that hippa laws need to allow for gun sales to be able to check on the mental history of someone who is wanting to buy a gun. Right now the background check doesn't have anything about the mental health in it again because of the hippa laws.

Please tell me you figured that out by yourself.

I need to know that only 1 person is this dumb, and that it isn't contagious.

I know you are basically ignorant about most issues but could you please stop posting about hippa laws? It’s called the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act or HIPAA.

Since it's locked, I'm going to post this (sorry if repost):

Mr. Covelli also discussed two prior incidents in which police had come into contact with Mr. Crimo.

Local police were informed in April 2019 that Mr. Crimo had attempted suicide and they responded to his home, learning that the incident was being handled by mental-health professionals, Mr. Covelli said.

In September 2019, police were called to Mr. Crimo’s home, where he was threatening to kill family members. Police at the time took possession of 16 knives, a dagger and a sword, Mr. Covelli said. At the time, there was no probable cause to arrest Mr. Crimo, he said, but officials did alert the state police about the incident, raising questions about the agency’s role in Mr. Crimo’s acquisition of firearms. The knives were later returned to Mr. Crimo’s father the same night after he told police that they belonged to him and were being stored in his son’s room for safekeeping, state police said.

The Illinois State Police said that at the time it was notified of the incident, Mr. Crimo hadn’t applied for a Firearm Owners Identification card, meaning there was no action to be taken. Mr. Crimo, then 19 years old, applied for a card a few months later in December, with his father signing as his sponsor because he was under 21. Since no charges had emerged from the earlier incident, “there was insufficient basis to establish a clear and present danger and deny the FOID application,” the agency said.

The state police said the agency had never received any reports from mental-health facilities or personnel that would have prevented the younger Mr. Crimo from receiving the card.

There isn't a chance in hell any of you can stand here and defend the dogshit father from being locked up as an accessory to murder. The piece of shit sponsored his psycho son to get a gun, didn't get him help with any mental provider, and enabled this little fvck to do what he did.

String that man up in downtown HP and send a message, for once.

A lawsuit against the business who sold the crazy boy a gun, and against the manufacturer who sold the gun to a business who sells guns to crazy people, and between the courts and insurance companies, poof. The civil litigation system will do what all the statutes in the world cannot. By the end of the year a crazy little murderous prick won’t be able to LEGALLY buy a rubber pop gun, and no new laws will harmed in the process.

Now the ILLEGAL gun market may require shooting more criminals. But we can all get behind that, right? Imagine if this crazy little dude had been shot in 2019?

When I see these photos of Crimo ...

... and realize someone sold him a weapon, I'm reminded of one of Gary Busey's best lines of his career:

Masterpiece....

But yeah, red flag laws and administration of same need a looksie. I think a nationwide red flag law, depending on how it's crafted of course, would garner 80+% support

If it must be state by state, fine, but I bet the support levels remain the same.

The only gruop of people anybody wants to take guns away from are crazy people.

If it must be state by state, that seems to me to be not fine.

If I live in Jeffersonville and Indiana says I'm too crazy to buy a gun but Kentucky doesn't care, then the ability for me to get a gun is not hindered by the gun shop being 30 minutes away intead of 10 minutes away.

Now if the Louisville gun shop sees that I have Indiana residence and can find out that Indiana says I'm crazy, and they can say "sorry, I have to assume that you're crazy", then I could live with it. But patchwork systems tend not to work that well together.
