I told Junior the same thing. An unattractive matchup on a Friday night is a tough sell. It’s filled in a little bit.
But Friday night football against a 1-AA is deplorable.
TV.god that is awful. Reduced to playing an FCS opponent on a Friday night….why does this happen?
Sounded bad. Worrying.Ugh. Every snap the starters kept playing I kept questioning it. I’m guessing TE2 is out for the year.
Fired? For one decision?Whosever decision to go zone at end of 1st half again needs to be fired! That sht will cost us in B1G play!
Sorry, I wasn't able to watch. Who exactly are you referring to?Ugh. Every snap the starters kept playing I kept questioning it. I’m guessing TE2 is out for the year.

I couldn’t tell who it was that got hurt at the time (we’re north EZ), but I could notice his body like “heaving” as he came off the field. I had no idea what the injury was but I told my buddy that he was clearly really hurt.Looks like Bomba may be out for the year with a knee injury... Hopefully that's not the case and it's just serious knee sprain that'll he'll be able to return from but it looked bad...
2 games in a row they go zone to end the 1st half and get scored on against inferior teams! Just saying, I hope this isn’t a trend going into B1G play. I may have went a little too far saying someone needs canned over this, but if it continues, then yes! The D needs to stay aggressive all game long and not lay back. I think CCC got pissed off once W iLL drove the ball and then changed the D back before they could score an easy TD.Fired? For one decision?
Yes - that was our 2nd team defensive secondary on that drive from what I remember.2 games in a row they go zone to end the 1st half and get scored on against inferior teams! There was a running clock the clock didn’t stop on first downs out out of bounds before the 2 minute warning. Can we get a High School running clock?
Not that it is a great comparison but last week Auburn played FCS Alabama A&M in front of 88,000 people. That’s what football fanaticism looks like.Really disappointing. We started until midway through the 4th.
I don’t understand why we schedule Western Illinois… you can create an easy non conference schedule without scheduling a bottom feeder FCS. Schedule Ball State or Miami (OH) and the crowd is 40,000 tonight instead of 20,000.

That was a brilliant scheduling move by Dolson and it tells me he's serious about football...
The bar for "brilliant" has certainly been lowered around here....
Alabama probably has 88k show up for a scrimmage. They are also a football school that has, what, 5-6 national titles in the last 15 years? And probably a dozen conference titles in the same time. I’m surprised they only get 88k for their games. Not that it is a great comparison but last week Auburn played FCS Alabama A&M in front of 88,000 people. That’s what football fanaticism looks like.
Fire the guy, pretty funny and stupid remark.Whosever decision to go zone at end of 1st half again needs to be fired! That sht will cost us in B1G play!
My guess is each one of those games represents a double digit portion of W. Ill overall sports budget in terms of payoff.W. Ill. Scheduling:
MN in "22", us in "24", IL in "25", WI in "26", and p u in "28"...
It's called scheduling like the rest of the league...

It's designed to be a practice game, a tune up of sorts before we hit the every game is a tough game that can decide the fate of the season part of the schedule...
It gives the guys who are somewhat buried on the depth chart a chance to reaffirm to themselves and the coaches (and their own friends and families) that they are still good players who deserve more looks and perhaps even more PT in the rotations...
It's basically a confidence builder for all concerned and (in my opinion) the absolute perfect game at the perfect time, giving us either an extra day of rest or an extra day of preparation for the UCLA game...
