Yepdoes that mean home games?
I’m surprised Virginia Tech was a higher 4 seed.Being on the same side of the bracket of the overall 1-seed in South Carolina means we were the last of the No. 4 seeds, but that's fine and we will be hosting. In the jockeying for the No. 4 seeds, IU was helped when some of the teams being considered were early ousters in their conference tourney like we were. We should be healthier for the first round of the tournament.
Kitley may be out of the tourney. Missed ACC tourney and they have not said if she will be able to go in the NCAA so that had to be taken into accountI’m surprised Virginia Tech was a higher 4 seed.
Thanks, I did not know how they picked the four seeds locations.Being on the same side of the bracket of the overall 1-seed in South Carolina means we were the last of the No. 4 seeds, but that's fine and we will be hosting. That’s why I’m surprised they were a higher 4 seed than us.Kitley may be out of the tourney. Missed ACC tourney and they have not said if she will be able to go in the NCAA so that had to be taken into account
Here's a little snapshot of 13-seed Fairfield that I saw on the ESPN website. Needless to say, we will see a more complete report on them between now and the game. Our first round opponent is no slouch. Hard to believe Fairfield is an 11 seed. They are 31-1, with their only loss being a 3 point defeat at Vandy. And they went on the road and crushed Rutgers by 24. I hope we'll be at full strength next week, otherwise we may have a quick exit.
A helthy Kitley they win the ACC and are probably a 1 seedThat’s why I’m surprised they were a higher 4 seed than us.
Their NET was 86 if I remember rightHere's a little snapshot of 13-seed Fairfield that I saw on the ESPN website. Needless to say, we will see a more complete report on them between now and the game.
Fairfield Stags
After winning each of their 20 regular-season MAAC games by an average of 18.3 points, the Stags (31-1) needed every last point to survive Niagara in overtime in the conference tournament final. The victory maintained the second-longest winning streak in the country (29) behind South Carolina. Fairfield's only loss of the season came in the third game against Vanderbilt. Senior Janelle Brown won MAAC player of the year honors, but two of the Stags' top three scorers are freshmen: Meghan Andersen and Kaety L'Amoreaux.
While Saturday was a struggle, Fairfield is one of the most efficient offensive teams in the country, finishing third in 2-point field goal percentage. -- Charlie Creme
