I supported an infrastructure bill because we needed it, not that it was a great one. However, Trump promised one his entire first term and never delivered. I sure as hell didn't support the misnamed inflation control act or whatever it was called.

Of course, because Congress doesn't do their jobs. An infrastructure was needed big time because our infrastructure was badly deteriorated. President Trump failed to deliver one during his term despite promising to do it. You don't think it was needed? President Trump claimed he did.
A classic example of the need was this bridge in Cincy. In 2016 Trump promised to pass an infrastructure bill to replace this disaster of a bridge. That infrastructure bill had money for it and it is starting this summer.

Cincinatti needs another bridge. I almost always get stuck in traffic if I go through Cincy. I'm taking the bypass, which is a long one, many times now. At least traffic is moving.
We must rebuild our infrastructure. It's a mess. How could you not support that? As a fiscal conservative, I would have been looking for cuts to pay for it. Congress doesn't do that. Not even our fellow Republicans in Congress. Congress is a fiscal disaster.

No, it isn't. You want bridges to fail and roads to be total crap? I'm driving down the highway a few years ago and hit a huge pothole which screwed up my alignment and bent an expensive wheel. Cost me quite a bit to fix. Infrastructure absolutely had to be addressed. It has been. Our frickin' Representatives and Senators should do their jobs and pay for these things.

Not if it added to the debt. You lambasted the budget bill (and rightly so) because it added to the debt (that was your sole reason)…yet you support an infrastructure bill that adds to the debt.

This is simple. I absolutely hate that we're running huge deficits and that we're increasing the debt. I think we agree. There are also some things that government must spend on, like infrastructure. To pay for it, Congress should be cutting something else. They're not and that's the problem.
Given your arguments here, shouldn’t you be arguing why the things in BBB are not needed? You just admitted running a deficit is acceptable to you as long as it’s needed.
Its principal. If you want something then you pay for it. If we want to provide foreign aid then we should pay for it. If we want to fix Infrastructure then you pay for it.

Apparently, you guys aren't understanding me. I don't like deficits at all, but we have them. I don't like the debt, but we have it. We need Congress to do what is needed and get rid of what isn't needed. We need to be realists - it's not going to happen immediately. It'll take years to get out of this mess.
