that the Saudis financed 9/11, were OK with the Khashoggi murder, and suck at human rights.

So how did the golfers become the focus of this pushback? Soccer and Olympics and other things have had Saudi participation and funding. Have not seen this kind of outcry. Is it just the money?

Phil is playing the LIV schedule for 200 million reasons, nit including any winnings he may get as well.

LIV has no major media platform….except the Golf Channel talked nonstop yesterday about them.
The media has played this game wrong all along.
There is no reason to attempt to shame them. You just ignore the players that signed up.

Norman uses competition as the rationale for the LIV tour. This isn't competition when a governmental body funds it. Compete legitimately and see what happens. Please make LIV, Norman, and the clowns that play in it go away.

i think you are generally right. But, given the money grab, I don’t really feel sorry for any of these guys. I’d prefer they not play in any more majors and move outside the country.

I read Dustin got 125 mil to join. That's more than Tiger made in PGA winnings his entire career. If you are one of the lucky/talented ones the money in the world today is obscene

Arab oil money is the most nouveau riche thing I've ever seen. They're like Bieber owning 2 Ferrari's, 3 Lambos, vintage Porsche's and he can't even drive stick.

Take your Bieber hate somewhere else. Half the guy's face is paralyzed. Beliebers everywhere are joining in sending prayers and positive karma like Biebs would want and you're here slinging slop and taking shots at the guy

And his face doesn't work .....
And his GF had a heart attack...

But he's got that jab working for him..

LIV is a joke. Exhibition matches against a bunch of nobodys. Phil has a gambling problem and needed a bailout.

Meanwhile, the best in the world put on a great show at the Canadian Open this weekend.
You said it all! Phil looked sick in his US Open interview.

I can safely say that if Phil Mickelson moved to Saudi Arabia, made a billion dollars playing golf, took lessons to learn to fly a solo trip to the moon on Elon Musk’s spaceship and then came back to the PGA and won the Masters I wouldn’t give a crap and my life wouldn’t be impacted one iota.

Is this the way we are going to play the game?
Every issue?
Interesting

I'd like to read a good book on the historical timeline of when oil was discovered in the middle east and took off from there.

I'm honestly not sure how to respond to that. Because that's obviously not the case.

Because I reply to a golf thread that's the way I have to respond to everything?

Sounds the same as your attitude towards inner-city violence.

Nah...the logistics of all those inner city folks learning to pilot a spacecraft just doesn't make sense. Think of all the pollution all those rockets would create. Not very green at all.

Seriously, though this seems to come out of left field. I'm not sure what I've said to give you the impression that I don't care one bit about inner city violence. Are you just picking things out of hat labeled, 'this might piss off the libs on the board?"

how is your life affected one iota because some people were shot in Chicago or STL overnight? You have to be consistent

I'd like to think that people being shot and killed is a lot more important than where Phil effing Mickelson plays golf or how much money he makes doing it. Just because they're not being shot in front of my face doesn't mean I don't think that's an issue.

So Phil further enriching the biggest global terrorism supporter and oppressive dictatorship is somehow just a shoulder shrug?

Wrong lars, this is a problem with woeful inconsistency. And FWIW, I have no problem with what Phil did even though I hate the Saudis.
Apparently I'm missing some context.

Which is the normal course of things
