Your point? The greatest dunk artist of all time, and the kid can't find a spot on a NBA roster....What a time to be alive.
Water, wet; Sun, hot.The greatest dunk artist of all time, and the kid can't find a spot on a NBA roster....What a time to be alive.
This is the correct answer. Being able to dunk when no one else is on the court doesn’t qualify someone for a roster spot in the best basketball league in the world.I'm curious... when did Vince Carter come out of retirement?
Neither could Meadowlark Lemon or Curly Neal. The greatest dunk artist of all time, and the kid can't find a spot on a NBA roster....What a time to be alive.
Neither could Meadowlark Lemon or Curly Neal.
I'm still curious what @td75 "s point was in his OP. I wonder if he will come back and explain?
You're probably right. I was curious about why td was butthurt enough to start a thread about it.My guess is he thinks Mac Mclung should be on a roster and getting some PT because he is the 3x dunk contest champion. I have not watched Mac play, so I honestly couldn't assess whether or not he deserves a shot. Given some of the other low effort guys in the league, I'd think he should have a chance - but maybe he already has?
Also, while dunks are still the most entertaining element of basketball, the game has become a 3pt shootout. In his career, he has shot it at a 35.7% clip from deep, on not that many attempts. I'm not sure how that stacks up and how his defense is.

BTW, who do you consider some of the "low effort guys" who are in the NBA? I guess there could be some on the bench, but I never hear about them. I would think low effort would be a ticket to the G league or Europe.
uh huh sure. you figured out the reason. It's reverse racism in the NBA, that's my point. How can this kid be the best dunker of all basketball possibly ever, yet can't even get on the bench of a NBA team?
The racial climate that the left has created is disgusting. It's ok to discriminate as long as it's Whitey we're aiming for!
McClung's absence looks very bad on the NBA. If he was black, he'd have multiple contracts to choose from. Don't tell me he couldn't put up gaudy numbers in that showboat league; hell, he could have 5 dunks a night!!!

That's the perception, whether you believe it or not...uh huh sure. you figured out the reason.
falsely crying racism against whites is just as bad a look as falsely crying racism against blacks.
Your perception maybe. doesn't make it any better. That's the perception, whether you believe it or not...
Fvcking moron. You should be glad I don't mod based on content. It's reverse racism in the NBA, that's my point. How can this kid be the best dunker of all basketball possibly ever, yet can't even get on the bench of a NBA team?

The NBA has been about athletic dunking since Julius Ervin!! Anyone who watches the NBA knows that to be true AND also knows they don't play much defense. You do understand that basketball is more then just dunking. Like, the other team is fully able to guard him.
People get on dems for making things into race. I'll eagerly await the same treatment here.

Again, I'm grilling the NBA as they should be grilled. I couldn't care less about a bunch of left wing, politically correct white men telling me I'm wrong when I'm right!!
GTFO!!
Because all teams are in cahoots to keep the white man down even though he could help them win.The NBA has been about athletic dunking since Julius Ervin!! Anyone who watches the NBA knows that to be true AND also knows they don't play much defense.

Absolutely it is because it takes a bold person to stand up for this kid, particularly in this political climate. Very, very sad. This hill you're dieing on is a bold move.
We want DEI! We want DEI! We want DEI!

Perception is often reality...that's what the NBA is getting here. Possibly the best dunk artist of all time performing the NBA's favorite play, and he can't get a roster spot?????By falsely throwing out unfounded accusations?
If he is old enough to play in the NBA, he isn't a kid btw.
Perception is often reality...that's what the NBA is getting here. Possibly the best dunk artist of all time performing the NBA's favorite play, and he can't get a roster spot?????
I'm done.

You are taking this another direction. You should be done.
Vince Carter would destroy him in a dunk contest. The fact you would argue any other way lets everyone know who we're dealing with in terms of NBA knowledge.
You are taking this another direction.
Fact: the dunk is the most popular play in basketball, particularly the show boating NBA.
Fact: Mac McClung is the best dunker of a basketball in the WORLD.
Considering the above to be accurate, the NBA looks like poo-poo.
hate to break it to you but there is more to the game than dunking. You are taking this another direction.

Yeah, you're a real Profile in Courage.Absolutely it is because it takes a bold person to stand up for this kid, particularly in this political climate. Very, very sad.
Yeah, you're a real Profile in Courage.
The best way to get in Knight's doghouse was to miss a dunk. A higher percentage layup was preferred.Breakaway fast break dunks always get the hometown crowd roaring. To the contrary I find slam dunk contests boring.
Dunks are a impressive display of athleticism. However, most trips down the floor don't give rise to a dunk opportunity. Thus, a player who can deliver a dunk when the occasional opportunity presents itself isn't as useful as a player as one who can also provide a more strategic approach to scoring by executing a layup.
My kind of team is one which presents the defense with an open court three-point threat while at the same time having players who can drive to the basket and execute a layup. The old fashioned two-point layup and a free throw turns me on.
