The line for the NW game has already

NU’s strong suit is their D. They could give IU and QB Rourke some looks and difficulty, just like MD did in the first half yesterday. Will need to take what’s there and not try to force things. Punt if we must because…

NU’s O and QBs are a rough watch. Their number 1 RB has also missed time with injury too. If our D keeps playing like they have, it should set up IU with some short fields. I’m sure NU’s new OC will see what Charlotte did on counters,
misdirections and screens with some success to try and negate IU’s pressure. IU D will need to stay disciplined and keep things in front of them because nothing I’ve seen from the little I’ve watched of the ‘Cats offense has shown they can go over the top for big plays.

So that sounds like a 24-12 game per the line. Not seeing it. I am thinking big bounce back after missed opportunities versus MD.

I doubt Northwestern can keep it close. Indiana's offense is very capable of putting up 45 points.
Hope IU will win comfortably, but if NU’s going to keep this close, it’ll be their D doing the heavy lifting. We can’t help them (or any team)out with 4 TO’s like yesterday and expect to win.

I seriously doubt NU’s O can win any kind of shootout. This definitely isn’t Randy Walker’s ‘Cats of 2000, going up and down the field with Zak Kustok, Damien Anderson and OC Kevin Wilson calling the plays!!!

But we're soon to be 1-0 in the very cool little lakefront stadium.
Was just going to post that its hard to predict how our guys will handle playing in their high school stadium. I agree, it is actually very cool. But I've heard it can get very windy, and its obviously a different type of environment to get used to.

They're coming off a bye week. NW, while seemingly down this year, is always a tough, fundamentally sound team.

I don't think there's any question IU is the better team, probably a fair bit better, and should win the game comfortably. But its a unique road Big Ten game, against what will be a tough, smart football team. Probably a close game.

Another new test for Cig and the boys to pass, so we can come up with some new worries for the Nebraska game.

They're not a bad team but they're not the same without Fitz.

It feels weird to expect IU to put something like 56 or 63 on the board, but NW’s current situation feels a little offensively challenged: QB situation is unsettled, they’ve only been able to run the ball against Eastern Illinois, and give the ball away a lot. Could be like Maryland, but with a far worse offense.

To be fair, we've only played them 5 times in Evanston since 93. Only twice since 2002.
Actually 5 times since 2002…’04, ‘07, ‘09, ‘12 and ‘16.

The first 3 above were absolute typical iu kick in the sack type games!!

‘12 and ‘16, pretty much blow outs from the opening KO. ‘16 was a real dud performance by IU.

Also lost there since ‘93 in…’95, ‘00 and ‘02.

Weird,.NW site doesn't agree with you but the IU site, does.

IU vs NW History

Trust me, I was at most of them.

That is weird, though…NUsports.com needs to up their game, having left out ‘04, 07, ‘09 games, especially since they won all 3 in dramatic fashion.
