Reading some information regarding two loss SEC schools and IU if we lose to OSU. All saying two loss SEC gets in instead of us. Entitlement abounds. Go Hoosiers! Beat OSU and end this BS.
I've been warning of this for a while now. So many people here can't see the reality of it and think the ESPN computers are the decision makers. Unfortunately, it is a group of people that are heavily influenced by the powers that be.Reading some information regarding two loss SEC schools and IU if we lose to OSU. I agree. I’ve mentioned it as well and people just love to disagree. Need Texas to win out and we get in. If Texas loses we are out due to the amount of 2 loss SEC teamsI've been warning of this for a while now. Kirby Smart has already started whining. I hope the committee doesn't cede to this bullshit.Reading some information regarding two loss SEC schools and IU if we lose to OSU. All saying two loss SEC gets in instead of us. Entitlement abounds. Go Hoosiers! Beat OSU and end this BS.
That's the common sense approachThey'll go 4 B1G and 4 SEC, and settle it on the field.
yeah butThat's the common sense approach
Playing devil’s advocate, if role’s were reversed and IU had played in SEC and had Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama or Ole Miss’s schedule, what would we be saying? Our weak schedule is a legit argument. Good news is we have the ability to silence everyone this weekend!Reading some information regarding two loss SEC schools and IU if we lose to OSU. All saying two loss SEC gets in instead of us. Ole Miss played and beat 2 really good teamsPlaying devil’s advocate, if role’s were reversed and IU had played in SEC and had Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama or Ole Miss’s schedule, what would we be saying? USC could throw a monkey wrench into the Notre Dame - Playoff BS. And yes, I realize USC is a head scratcher with all of their NFL talent but they're a very dangerous teamNotre Dame has one and will only have one decent win and will have the worst loss of all teams.. but they will still get in.
this^..........it's very simpleStill just a guessing game...but I'd guess a big chunk of our CFP chances ride on how we "look" on Saturday. If we look like we belong on the field with OSU, even if we lose, I think there's too much chaos that would need to happen for IU to be left out. If we get thumped, and its obvious watching the game that we aren't at OSU's level, then I think that opens up the door for many teams to jump over us...namely the 2, maybe even 3 loss SEC teams.
I'm tired of reading/hearing all the talk of IU's potential record if they had played an SEC schedule this year. Seriously, watching those teams beat up on each other proves one thing abundantly clear: they all have faults in their games. Bama is far short of usual, GA's offense struggles away from Athens, and Tenn fans are the worst of the bunch (calling out IU as a fake contender) when their offense is the worst of the 2 loss SEC teams. I'm not saying IU would be undefeated and likely would have tripped up a game or maybe even two. However, there is anything but evidence the SEC is their usual conference full of powerhouse teams. Ole Miss may be the closest in terms of the eye test with their ability to ring up big numbers on offense but then they go out and lay an egg against a 3-6 team. IU is a complete TEAM on O and D; something I don't think any SEC team can claim this season. Hopefully, the CFP's confirm the SEC is not who THEY think they are this season.
In many ways, its a bigger game for OSU than it is for us.this^..........it's very simple
win Saturday and we're in
play Saturday like we have all year long and make them earn it.....we're in
if we get blown out (won't happen) then we don't deserve to be in
beat o$u and put those f____s on suicide watch
I don't know...after watching most/all of the teams in recent weeks. I think with the right path, this team could win 3-4 games in a row if they play well. There aren't any teams that would "scare" me anyways, at this point. Maybe Saturday's game will change that POV, but I kinda doubt it will, win or lose.Know I’m in the minority but I’m totally fine being 11-1 and playing in the Citrus Bowl 1/1. We’re not deep enough to win a Natty and the new standard has already been set.
The middle of the SEC could go 8-1 or 7-2 in the BT. Our middle teams really need to step up. Wisconsin and Iowa being down really hurt the conference.
No. SEC has a broadcast arrangement with Disney/ESPNDoesnt Bspn own a part of the SEC?
The PAC 12 added teams really need to raise their games. Oregon is obviously good this year, but for the Big 10 to have a legitimate argument against the SEC, USC, UW, and UCLA need to be top tier teams. They have the potential and recruiting base. Iowa and Wisky will always be somewhat limited.Know I’m in the minority but I’m totally fine being 11-1 and playing in the Citrus Bowl 1/1. The middle of the SEC could go 8-1 or 7-2 (South Carolina for example) in the BT. We just don’t face a gauntlet like they do week in and out. Our middle teams really need to step up. Wisconsin, Nebraska, and Iowa being down really hurt the conference.

Throw in Washington and Michigan sucking as upper tier teams. I mean I get it.
4. cig called them out last fall........the target on our back is largeIn many ways, its a bigger game for OSU than it is for us.
A couple of those ways.
1. IU can lose this game and still get in to the playoff, OSU likely can't.
2. I think Ryan Day loses his job if he loses to IU.
3. Our excitement for beating OSU could only be outdone by their embarrassment by losing to IU in the shoe.
Please, please...pretty please let it happen!!!
Hey we thought we were limited. Clearly it’s coaching. Iowa could be a giant with their fanbase and commitment to football. But their coach is extremely mid.The PAC 12 added teams really need to raise their games. This is my worry. Michigan played like they were very angry over it. I have no doubt Ohio State will too.4. cig called them out last fall........the target on our back is large
bring it.....let the best team winThis is my worry. Michigan played like they were very angry over it. I have no doubt Ohio State will too.
Nobody scares me in 1 game. But winning 3 just seems impossible. Michigan really exposed a couple weaknesses and nearly everyone we’d play has that talent up front and on the backend.I don't know...after watching most/all of the teams in recent weeks. I agree they can be solid programs. I just think a USC has a much higher upside. That could be a NC program.Hey we thought we were limited. Clearly it’s coaching. Iowa could be a giant with their fanbase and commitment to football. But their coach is extremely mid.
Wisconsin just made a bad hire that set them back. Jury is still out on Fickell but going away from UW football to the Air Raid was certainly a choice.
I said this as well. Kirby is going to plead his case. Bottom line: he lost by 3 scores at Ole Miss. He clung on to a whopping 1 point victory at UK. He beat the worst team in the conference (Mississippi State) at home by 10 points, gave up 31 points and 306 yards passing. The SEC wants to claim that the teams at the top of the league are beating each other up. But the bigger issue is that those teams (almost across the board) keep dick tripping in games they should have easily won if they were as good as the claimed. If the SEC were as good as they claimed, A&M/Ole Miss would be undefeated (instead of 2 losses each), and Bama/Tenn would have one loss each.
On the surface Georgia could look like a victim of top SEC teams beating up on each other with losses only top 10 teams and 2 very solid wins. However, one of those came in one of the ugliest games of the year at Texas where there were a combined 5 first half TOs and Georgia had one drive the of more than drive of more than 35 yards. Their resume outside those 2 big wins is actually very mediocre
Based on eye test alone, Georgia isn't even a top 15 (maybe not even top 20) team that seemingly lucked into 2 very good wins.
There are so many other things riding on this game, I kinda doubt that Cig's speech 8-9 months ago, will mean much. This is my worry. Michigan played like they were very angry over it. I have no doubt Ohio State will too.
