The Draft Was "Authentic" - Justice Roberts

And for the record, not sure which of the multiple threads it was in, but of course I was being sarcastic about the actual procedure. No one likes abortion. Some understand the realities and the need in this world, not the utopia some think everyone lives in.
Yeah, sure you were. Whatever does the job, is what you said, without a hint of irony.

Put it this way....it is a higher percentage than the number of Americans that approve of the job Biden is doing.

Higher than the number of Americans that approved of the last president as well.

40% of the population will never approve of the current president regardless of who it is.

An election decided 57% to 43% would be considered very decisive and perhaps a landslide. Johnson-Goldwater was the biggest landslide in presidential election history and was 61%-39%.

Congress has no authority to investigate this. FBI authority is iffy but it might. The Marshalls have the authority.
CoH, good point about separation of powers preventing a Congressional investigation.

However, Congressional Republicans are calling for a FBI or Judicial Department investigation by virtue of a crime having been committed.

Should I know who that is?

What is the "property?" The physical paper? The information? What if it was photocopied? Emailed? If the "information" is the property, what is the value of that? $0.01? $1,000,000?

Do you have a statute you can refer us to?

I mean, I'm just an uneducated ole' Hoosier, born and reared in the cornfields of Indiana, but in my law learnin', we were told in this great country that all laws had to be written down and that you couldn't just be sent to jail 'cause someone says you done wrong. Nope, you had the right, the God Given right some would say, to see what that law was that you broke, to read it, right there on the page to see what you could and couldn't do. As my granddad always said, a man has a right to see what he done that was wrong if the gummint gonna lock him up in the slammer. At least that's how I was raised.
Fifth Amendment ul do'er

No women are dying from not having an abortion. You are making shit up.
Are you truly this ignorant? You and your buddy Cray? That’s a rhetorical question. Women die from having botched back alley abortions. They did in the past and they will again. Try to follow along.

You always act as if women all agree with you. They don't. 43 percent is a very large percentage of any population.
I don’t know what makes you think I act like all women agree with me. 43 is a large percent. 57 is larger, if I’m going my math right. When you speak about the military does everyone assume you’re speaking for all military? I certainly don’t. I happen to be the one woman here, likely because this group would run anyone else off after reading one thread. If you want to think I speak for all women that’s your issue. I speak for one woman who gets a little tired of thread after thread about abortion on here from men who have zero experience likely. Although you do. You all know someone who has had an abortion probably.

I make it pretty clear I don’t speak for all military. You don’t. I’ve been reading your posts for years and you often write as if your speaking for all women or some other group. It’s just an observation.

No you post as though everything that happens in the world happens to YOU. Guess what? It doesn't . No one forces you to be here or read anything. I don't recall thread after thread about abortion on a regular basis. I assume you are upset that there are sites men talk about stuff on. Does Martha Stewart have one somewhere?

As long as we are getting a little tired of stuff, I get a little tired of hearing a guy can’t hold a valid opinion about abortion because he is a guy. Especially when expressed by those who have otherwise disparaged old white guys only because they are white and old.

I don’t really care, you can have an opinion but it counts for nothing because you don’t understand the circumstances. Nor do I. Only the woman involved does and her confidants. I actually don’t care what women think. Conservatives cry and throw a hissy fit about mah free dumb when asked to wear a mask. But want to be able to rule on what another woman can do with her body. You worry about your family and I’ll worry about mine.

Can you point out an example where I did that?

Bullshit. You automatically tell someone their opinion counts for nothing because isn't the same as yours. You are so full of sh*t it isn't even funny. Your opinion counts for nothing to me as well. Go put your pink pussy hat on, go get a sign and protest somewhere then. Mah Free Dumb? You are just an out of control idiot.
if I’m going my math right
That would be ''doing'' if actually using English. I wasnt going to point it out but since you had to do a you're to someone else I did.

Like I said everything that happens in the world doesn't specifically happen to YOU , but you sure think it does.

I don't much care if Roe is overturned or sustained. But this leak is unacceptable and much more of an attack on democracy than the January 6 riots.

My initial over-reaction is that this person is another Julius and Ethyl Rosenberg and/or Assange/Snowden, overruling a whole society/population and taking the wrong things into their own wrong hands.

I hope they go to jail.
A leak is a bigger attack on democracy than Jan 6? They should go to jail? Go to jail for what? What law did they break?

Good grief, man.

I hate autocorrect on my phone. Thanks.

You've done it several times in this thread. When you say "women will" or women this or women that, it's like you're talking for all women. You often speak of your sorority girls as if they all have the same beliefs and that they happen to align with yours. Maybe the majority do, but I'm quite certain they all don't. You might want to keep that in mind when you interact with them. I keep that in mind with those that work with me and those I work with. I know we all don't agree (just like when I was in the military, I stay apolitical, by the way - I think that's the best way to be with coworkers, employees and those above me in the chain). When I talk about military stuff, I don't say "the military will" whatever, I say "many in the military will" or words to that effect. You post in the former style over and over again. It's my observation.

By the way, the majority of white women went for Trump in 2016, so if I said "white men and women love Trump" or something along those lines it would be like I was speaking for all white people. It would be irritating to me as a white man that absolutely doesn't support Trump now and not then either.

So, you defend a heinous act by comparing to another act you consider heinous. Very interesting thought process. They were both heinous acts. However, the leak may ultimately prove to be a far more damaging to one of our governmental institutions. It is the first such leak in the history of the Supreme Court. Quit trying to defend or justify a truly despicable act. Just admit that the act was despicable and move on. Whether or not the perpetrator goes to jail is hardly the issue

I didn't make the comparison, the OP did.

I asked for your opinion earlier on the leak and, as far as I know, you haven’t responded.

I agree it’s not in the same league as Jan 6th, but it’s still serious, if for no other reason than the impact it will have on the court.

As Robert’s noted in his statement, the court takes great pride in the work they do and in upholding the rule of law. Someone in their inner circle broke that trust. That’s not inconsequential.

“You worry about your family and I’ll worry about mine”!
I agree wholeheartedly.
This applies to personal freedoms and social programs?

Sorry, I missed your post. The leak is bad, and it likely undermines the trust between the justices and their staffs that is critical for them to do their work in a timely and candid manner.

Maybe so, but he got your money.
He did, and I will buy more of his pillows, maybe some sheet's here soon. I know that everything that you buy has an inherent risk, I get it.

But he is no SoS. He has a lane, he should stay in it. That is where he excels. I hold "my" (hahaha like I even have one) party to some limitations.

So what? I don’t understand the circumstances when people abuse kids either.
Totally unrelated. I’d love to have some of you guys sit in a women’s group and listen to reasons for abortions. It’s heart wrenching and terrifying. How arrogant to think the circumstances don’t matter.
