The Draft Was "Authentic" - Justice Roberts

It's very much the same results I've seen in many different surveys. Pro-choice people routinely overestimate their supporters. Elitists would latch on to the more education aspect, of course. ;)

I think both sides tend to overestimate their support.

Regardless of education, people of child-bearing age are overwhelmingly pro-choice...the ones that may be in a position to need to make such a dreadful choice.

It it despicable that other people think it is their right to make their choice for them.

Seven-in-ten say they do not want the Supreme Court to completely overturn its Roe v. Wade decision, compared with 28% who want to see the decision completely overturned.

Similar majorities of women (70%) and men (69%) do not want Roe v. Wade overturned.

Among all adults, those with higher levels of educational attainment are more supportive of legal abortion than those with less education. While 72% of those with postgraduate degrees say abortion should be legal in all or most cases, a smaller majority of those who have not completed college (57%) say the same.

Pew 2019
I guess we well educated people (two postgraduate degrees here) like to see the poor people abort their babies. We elitists are a pretty cold-hearted lot. ;)

If they make that choice, then yes that’s what I want for them. That doesn’t make anyone cold hearted.

What is the "property?" The physical paper? The information? What if it was photocopied? Emailed? If the "information" is the property, what is the value of that? $0.01? $1,000,000?

Do you have a statute you can refer us to?

I mean, I'm just an uneducated ole' Hoosier, born and reared in the cornfields of Indiana, but in my law learnin', we were told in this great country that all laws had to be written down and that you couldn't just be sent to jail 'cause someone says you done wrong. Nope, you had the right, the God Given right some would say, to see what that law was that you broke, to read it, right there on the page to see what you could and couldn't do. As my granddad always said, a man has a right to see what he done that was wrong if the gummint gonna lock him up in the slammer. At least that's how I was raised.
Jeezus, are all you guys lawyers?

That explains a lot. lol

Except for vaccines, right?

When you get sick with a deadly virus from someone else having an abortion then get back to me.

Until then, keep your apples and oranges comparisons to yourself

You're the one who said no one should tell anyone else what to do with their body.

You're too stupid to understand your own hypocrisy.

Why would that be a "very good possibility?" I think that's hardly a possibility at all. I can't think of any logical reasons he'd do it. I don't think any of the justices did it, but if one did it, it's much more logical that one of the potential dissenters did it than Alito. It's most likely a clerk of one of those justices in my opinion.
As others have theorized he may have released it now. Well ahead of the fall elections. Thus taking the wind out of its sails so to speak.

I don't actually believe that. I'm just saying its plausible.

I see that theory is floating around on the liberal sites now. I think it’s the least likely of all the possibilities.

Of course you don’t care if it’s overturned. Many men don’t. Women on the other hand….

There is very little- to no - gender gap when it comes to public opinions on abortion.... per all the long-standing polling trends we have available.

Now maybe you mean that women have stronger opinions.... on both sides of the issue.... than men do. That I'd likely concur with.

Nonprofits will pop up. Agencies will find a way. It'll have enough support to raise $$
True. It’s already started. Before Roe V Wade there was something called the Jane Collective where women helped house and transport others to safe places. It’s fundraising again now.,

And for the record, not sure which of the multiple threads it was in, but of course I was being sarcastic about the actual procedure. No one likes abortion. Some understand the realities and the need in this world, not the utopia some think everyone lives in.

You put it in the "Movies, books, TV" thread.

How about an FBI and Congressional investigation into the leak with no one being forced to testify ?
Congress has no authority to investigate this. FBI authority is iffy but it might. The Marshalls have the authority.

If this leak is used as a come to jesus moment for all of this crap that goes on in DC, then so be it. Find this person, hell find someone who may be only 14th cousins of this leaker, give them 30 years and set an example.
There’s no way to pursue charges without steamrolling the fundamental rights that are foundational to the court’s adjudications.

Government documents are government property. Documents don’t even need to exist. They can be digitized.

Is anyone talking about the possibility it was one of the permanent staff at the court, not affiliated with any particular justice?

Yea I get that and more and more people are saying that same thing.
On the other hand, from a simple redneck laymen justice seeker, our political and legal world rotates around politicians and lawyers finding cracks and loopholes in our foundation to get things done......if it pays well enough.
I think the payoff on this is worth it. FIND A WAY. Maybe follow the script being used already. Find the perp and then launder that info into the publlic sphere and cancel the sh$t out of the perp.

Yeah, this want a serious public document like Biden’s daughter’s diary when the FBI raided the private home of a media member looking for evidence. .
