Putting a sponsor logo at mid-field is pretty aggressive - I wonder if the B1G Conference overall wants to have a say on whether that happens.I’m good selling all the sponsors and ads we can for Memorial Stadium. It’s $ straight to the bottom line in the CFB arms race.
The three bar Adidas logo is pretty clean.
The last interview I heard with Dolson he talked about large gifts for the stadium (like Simon-Skjodt for AH). I don’t know how he thinks about sponsors or what IU could get. He seems to like the donation and name the stadium after you (SSAH, Andy Mohr Field, Bart Kaufman, Cook Hall, Wilkinson Hall, etc).
We could kill two birds with one stone if we were able to sell Adidas on the idea that adding chevron shaped stripes in the end zone represented their logo and having them pay us to put them there (like this ///\\\ ) while somewhat placating the candy stripes everywhere crowd at the same time 😉. 😀😎I’m good selling all the sponsors and ads we can for Memorial Stadium. The last interview I heard with Dolson he talked about large gifts for the stadium (like Simon-Skjodt for AH). I don’t know how he thinks about sponsors or what IU could get. IU historically seems to prefer naming facilities after the big donor that helped with it (SSAH, Andy Mohr Field, Bart Kaufman, Cook Hall, Wilkinson Hall, etc). We’ll see.
You've thought about this?, lol. While we're at it have Adidas pay for an entirely new field surface... (for the rights to put their chevron shaped striped logo in the end zone)...
///\\\Imagine sergeant stripes with their base beginning at where the hash marks end at the goal line with the top points ending behind and at the goalpost.///\\\
Couldn't sleep...😉😎🤣You've thought about this?, lol. The Holiday Express last night?
I'm a capitalist, big time. But you don't build a program brand by displaying sportswear logos even for tall cash. You soak apparel companies for all the promotional value to advance your program. Don't want the tail wagging the hound. IU and IU property holds a forever sovereignty.
Apples and Oranges as their situation is uniquely different.Oregon and Nike think otherwise.
It certainly does seem to be going that way.Idk, I’m a sellout, for $4M+ NIL per year I’d let a sponsor name the stadium and put logos anywhere they want. The players we could get on the field would be worth it for me. Just my opinion.
Hilarious. Like Nascarcould just have brand logos on the jerseys..
And Kurtis Rourke with his m&m jersey enters the field to lead the hoosiers. Starting at LG is Carter Smith sporting the Steak and Shake jersey and we have Donovan McCulley sponsored by Butterfingers lining up out wide lol
NASCAR has been reduced to a glorified dog and pony show, a parade of advertisements representing the different pedigrees. Their occasional “fisticuffs” are there for the show, much like hockey.Hilarious. Like Nascar
I watched a show about micro wrestlers. Big Little Brawlers. That's not an easy lifeNASCAR has been reduced to a glorified dog and pony show, a parade of advertisements representing the different pedigrees. Their occasional “fisticuffs” are there for the show, much like hockey.
Life has become a variety show. With everyone having a camera and video recorder in their hands, we’re seeing a societal change…a different way of doing things with the full ramifications remaining to be seen.
On July 5, the Monroe Co Fairgrounds will be hosting what was called up until recently, midget wrestling. It is now advertised as micro wrestling. Brown County hosted this little show about 10 years ago and it proved to be a fun night. The crowd really gets into those little rascal grapplers who know how to play ‘em. I’d go again, but “I Gotta Regatta” in Madison, IN.
How about "Freak show"? All of the sideshow attractions people used to pay a quarter to see at the carnival now have their own TV shows...with the possible exception of chicken head eating geeks. Looking for that one on the Food Network any day now.Life has become a variety show.
Nothing is sacred anymore. I’ve often wondered just how much money companies waste on advertisements. I think a lot of companies…people that run them, are really fueling an Ego trip when seeing their corporate name in the bright lights.IU is seeking a branding partner for both its football field and basketball court. SI Article:
"BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Brand logos could be coming to the playing surfaces of Indiana basketball and football games soon.
A news release on Thursday stated that IU Sports Properties and IU Athletics are teaming up to make a first-of-its kind branding opportunity available on the playing surfaces of both Memorial Stadium and Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall.
The release detailed that "In Memorial Stadium, potential brand partners can now consider the chance to become the field level sponsor with their logo displayed on each side of the field at the 25-yard line. Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall, meanwhile, can now feature a single marketing partner’s logo on each side of the court."
"These new opportunities are available immediately and will be the most visible brands associated with IU Athletics. There will be only one partnership entered into for each of IU’s two most high-profile athletic facilities, and once sold, these two opportunities will not be available again for multiple years based on the nature of the potential multi-year agreements."
Indiana Athletics facilities have never featured brand logos on any of its playing surfaces.
But due to the NCAA’s recent decision to allow corporate advertisements on courts and fields, that appears to be changing at Indiana and colleges around the country. And because players can profit off their name, image and likeness now, there is a growing need for athletic departments to secure funding for student-athletes.
This is an opportunity for brands to reach millions of people each year."

The saying quoted by adman David Ogilvy said by a top suit, is he knows that half of all their advertising is wasted, he just doesn't know which half.I’ve often wondered just how much money companies waste on advertisements. ..
We don't have a Mahomes to put forward. Maybe Mike Woodson would be willing to develop his own logo. Not thrilled but as long as they orient it correctly to the sidelines and the yard lines it would be an upgrade over how they stuck a whack jawed version of our state logo out there... Hopefully when they put the corporate logo(s) on the field they'll find a way to straighten out the state logo at the same time...
