Tennessee/Purdue fans

They could almost be the same guys. What a bunch of idiots!

Stop just looking at the username and check the # of messages on the account. Most offenders are new accts, which screams TROLL. Maybe they sound like Purdue fans because they are Purdue fans, or possibly UK fans trying to make Vols look like jackazzes.

Not saying we don't have our fair share, but no legit UT fan that watched this team play this year is going to come over here acting like we can't be beat.

Never understood why people take the time to make fake accounts to stir up trouble.
I guess it tells you a lot about their boring, pathetic lives.

And I have no problem talking to those UT fans. I don’t even mind them saying that they think they’ll win.

I just hate these trolls.

Good post. We have our share too. I look at "Joined" date and # of posts for insight. Tennessee is a great match up for IU. I think you are a little better but not that much better. I was in Atlanta for Peach. Reggie Cobb. Couldn't stop him. Good luck! Go Hoosiers!

The joined date may be a better reference. This acct was created on an old Alliance sports forum before they were bought by Rivals. Haven't posted in a few years and just noticed Rivals has apparently wiped out my posting history.

Cobb was a handful. Wish we had an RB like that on this team and an OL that could run block. I think our D will hold up, but this O is like a roller coaster subject to frequent break downs. Should be interesting. Good luck and GBO!

I was at the Peach Bowl game when Cobb was unstoppable. Tough for an IU fan to watch. This game should be a fun one to watch.

I saw our teams play in the Peach Bowl in Atlanta and then my two friends and I went downtown to watch the basketball game between Kentucky and Georgia. A guy sitting nearby said he was a Tennessee football and Kentucky basketball fan. My other friend told me that guy sounded like a fair weather fan. Do you have many fans with split allegiances like that? We have more than our share with IU basketball only supporters.

Most Universities that have national brands have lots of subway alumni. TN (FB) and IU (hoops) are just that.

Right. But I was thinking more about people in this state who are only fans of us for basketball, and I wondered if people in Tennessee have an issue with many of them rooting in basketball for UK. Maybe the guy we met in Atlanta was an exception, but I wouldn't know.

I have never met, or heard of, a UT football fan that was a Kentucky basketball fan. The depth of animosity against the shameless cheating UK bballers is profound among the Vol fanbase. It's really hard to imagine. I feel pretty safe in saying virtually all Vols support UT across all college sports they follow, but some don't follow all sports. That dude was either a pretender or a unicorn.

That's the way most of us feel about the cheating Cats. It is almost like a badge of honor for those people that they have won in the past with their lack of respect for the rules. A long time ago I read that UK's early success in the SEC was equivalent to Canada going to Mexico and starting an ice hockey league. It appeared to be many years before the rest of the SEC took the hoop game seriously.

I have not seen TN play nor do I follow them. 7-5 does not sound great but it is the SEC.
I want to win, obviously, but also want to increase recruiting presence for the future.

Never have had a trouble with a UT football fan. Wish we could harvest and grow some of their loyalty. Tennessee Orange, however, is the ugliest orange I have ever seen, and "Rocky Top" is not a fight song.
Here's to hoping you know our version of Down the Field better by the end of the game

Yeah, orange is an unfortunate color to be saddled with as a fan. It's the reason I did not go to UI...well that and IU has a better business school and much better campus. Orange is a fashion statement, but not in a good way.

Shades of orange at Texas, Clemson, Illinois, Cuse OK with me. Tennessee orange needs to be taken to Sherman Williams for a touch up. Too dull and yellow.
But again, Tennessee is a great state, their fans stay loyal through thick and thin.

Have to say do not know it. All I heard when Reggie Cobb was ruining our day on the final drive at the Peach Bowl was "Rocky Top," and it was continuous, loud, and discouraging.

I love the Tennessee orange and branding. Indiana needs a HUGE overhaul in branding.

People who actually like orange as a clothing color are by definition excluded from all branding discussions. IU fixed their problem when they moved from Red to Crimson.

It’s not so much the color or shade that Indiana needs to work on. It’s the overall branding.

We need some variety. We need a mascot (already have one, actually. Just check my handle). Heck, the font on half our gear or even our unis is the plainest font you could ever come up with.

OK, always room for improvement.

All I heard the entire trip was that Rocky Top song... We had to do a pep rally appearance with their band and it was nonstop.

5-3 in SEC is not bad at all. They started out slow but finished strong. They have higher ranked kids i.e. 5* (we don't have any) and 4* (we have some; they have dozens). We'll have our hands full with the athleticism. I think it's a real good match up for both.

At the peach bowl I saw a Tennessee hearse painted in orange and white. It was wild. All I could think of was wow what a fanatical group. Oh ya and Reggie Cobb just kicked our ass. (For those who don't know about the TN- V -IU Peach bowl. IU was up 22-21 with like 2 min. Reggie proceeded to carve us up and scored with basically no time left. Went from happy to oh shit in a couple minutes.)

Y'all crazy. Tennessee orange is the color of God smiling.

I’m not sure a fan base that thinks it’s ok for 40-50 year old men to wear candy stripe pants should be commenting on fashion statements for any other school.

Seems to me opponents clad in the color crimson have not been so good to Tennessee. I recall a certain crimson wearing SEC team that will frequently ROLL all over Ole Rocky Top.
