Targeted Killing of Lawmakers in MN

don't forget the interview of the Wall Street Journal with his best friend and roommate, saying that he was a strong Trump supporter, gun enthusiast, religious fundamentalist

That's an awful lot of quacking, so I think it would be amazing if he were not a duck. Is it 100% certain? No, just 99% certain.
Oh, well if his roommate and best friend said it, it must be true!

lmao

How big of a douche Walz is or isn't is completely irrelevant. If you want to be President, you have to be President for all people and you need to get over petty disputes to do the simple, decent, human things when tragedy strikes. People need to stop treating death so cavalierly.
Can't disagree with you either.

That's why I said the were both classless, petty, dicks.

No at this point it’s fake. Walz said horrible things about Trump. And trump responded in kind. We’re all adults. Trump can issue a statement addressing the lawmakers and people of minny without the pretense of a bs call to Walz.

What did Walz do here that was classless and petty?
He's been a classless and petty dick for quite some time. The latest was something I brought up in thread a couple of days ago. He's been talking about political violence and then after this happens, he talks about the need to tone down the rhetoric without acknowledging his complicity in turning it up.

There’s no point calling this guy. A serial liar is going to provide the truth

Can you point me to those comments prior to the assassination? My search results aren’t providing any.

October? Hooky referenced some recent comments

So what you're saying is, no, he hasn't?
Politicians suck. Never over estimate them. I'd call this both classless and petty (doesn't matter what you think of Elon):

Gov. Tim Walz recently rubbed in Tesla's misfortune at a town hall where he mocked Tesla's stock value. "They've got that little stock app. I added Tesla to it to give me a little boost during the day. 225 and dropping," Walz told the audience.

I don't think that's quite an accurate representation of what Walz said (talking about political violence), but regardless politicians are going to disagree and attack each other. Grown ups figure out how to move past classless and petty when tragedy strikes.

Trump kinda gets a pass at this point where everyone (general phrase about the current zeitgeist, not literally everyone) just throws up their hands and says "this is just who the guy is."

We'd all like to think the other politicians are still above it all. Some are, on both sides. But I think many are internally doing the cost/benefit analysis on whether Trump's methods will work for them. If yes, then decorum be damned. Sucks. But I don't think we're ever going back. Trump's tactics are now going to be considered by every politician and used much more often.

That’s out the window. Biden called half the country garbage. At this point why pretend.

Unfortunately
And then Biden still attended Trump's inauguration. He's a grown up who understands some things are more important than petty political gamesmanship.
That's never going to happen with Trump.
And that's why he's being criticized. You'd never let your child get away with behaving like that. Why would one accept it in their President?

Not sure who, other than Elon, that's going to inspire assassinations from. And btw, I'm seriously asking this question about his comments because I can't find anything tying him to political violence rhetoric, but it's been mentioned here multiple times.

Only if people like us accept it and give a pass to it.

We don't really want a world where we only care about tragedies that happen to people we agree with politically, do we?

He’s far from a grownup. He was as petty and awful as any politician ever to live. I couldn’t care less if they’re going to be fake

Gotcha. I was referring to hooky's reference to classless and petty, which is what I think hoosboot and I are now discussing. You're focused on the political violence rhetoric.

Closest I can find is this. Calling ICE the Gestapo is stupid. DHS thinks it's causing violence towards ICE agents:

And then I find this, by the way. Unserious people seem to get elected at an alarming rate these days:

Hooky might have meant Walz’s call for Dems to be meaner. Bully Trump etc back.

Perhaps prior to Trump, but no longer.
That’s opinion. I prefer Trump. He’s more authentic and transparent. I’ve never disliked politicians more than the Biden administration. From psaki to Pete to Harris etc I like nasty old Hillary more

Yes, it is. As has been stated here many times, how can a nation of over 350 million come up with such shit candidates.

I don't know what happens after the 2minn mark because I can't stand the way these hearings operate as grandstands looking for 'gotchas' and soundbytes that can be easily put on social media to fan the flames.
