I imagine every assistant coach, especially the ones that have never been head coaches, dream of being a head coach. They aren't in it to be a yes man and play second fiddle. That isn't to say they don't enjoy themselves but all of them plan to be head coaches, some just wait for the right opportunity. Tino needed to be the OC somewhere so it feels like a no-brainer.A problem with success is losing assistants to HC positions with other schools. Happens to most every school.
Teri Moren has predominantly kept her staff. Only one, Glenn Box, left for a HC position. I don’t personally know any coaches so I can’t say what makes someone go or stay.
