I am 100% against boots on the ground anywhere. I could see a few days ago today was likely to happen and I am ok with it as long as we don't in end on the ground anywhere. Time will tell I guess

I’m sure they did. But it was probably a plan with low/moderate confidence.

I was really referring to destroying the sites with ordnance. As far as I know, nobody else has the technology to get that deep.

Some knowledgeable people were even unsure about the GBU-57s being up to the task.

It was designed specifically for this site.

I don’t believe the bolded. There’s no way the Israelis didn’t have a plan in place to remove this threat.

If they can get us to do it, all the better.

Believe whatever you want. We started building this in 2013 specifically for this target. We were the only ones that have the bomber that could carry this size of bomb that weighs 30k lbs. The B2 is the only bomber on the planet that can deliver this.

I believe this because trump does not want to get involved in this stuff if at all possible. I highly doubt he was suddenly talked into this by people who want war.

So what next? What is Iran’s response? What is our end game here? Regime change?

Well see. Iran is in the weakest position it's ever been. For all the bluster the overall economic pressure campaign hasn't let up for many years.

Israel has gone all out after 10/7. Destroying Hamas and Hezbollah

And they should. It was their 9/11.

In doing so, opened up unique opportunities that we would have been dumb to ignore

Political Islam is a horrible cancer upon the world and should be beaten back and destroyed just like any other cancer. You let it fester and we're all eventually ****ed.

Can anyone with a better understanding of the military explain what readiness actually means? It lists the aircraft based on a readiness percentage. Would love some further context.

Was just listening to the Joint Chiefs of Staff briefing and was amazed at just how large this operation was, over 125 US aircraft in addition to the surface missles from the subs.

Btw, as per the WDMMA website the US has the largert amount of aircraft, Isreal #9 and Iran #42. I'm assuming this website is reputable.

The US military has zero competition.

I hate having to do this, but glad this administration has the stones to do it. Iran has been a lying and deceitful player for years, inflicting harm all over the world for decades. We developed this particular bomb for this very occasion... it was time to employ it.

Now comes the nonsense - AOC calling for impeachment, Talib crying, and the UN Secty General stating this is a direct threat to peace, etc. As if Iran isn't THE biggest threat?

Next step - withdraw from the UN. We contribute 25% of the operating budget ($13 billion) to this organization that has veered away from it's original intent. It's a joke... with over 137,000 employees. It is ineffective. Lots of talk but zero power or influence. Time to exit.
