St Louis is an awesome soccer locale. My boy Tim Ernst came from great roots
He’s a legend. Older than I. You know now how you get old and misremember shit. I swear my buddy @snarlcakes the Texan played against his Evansville team when they were number 1 in the country. And it was 0-0 and Dayton ended up losing 6-0 in ot.

As an aside Evansville was great back then but an odd choice. Most of the great Stl players went to Slu Clemson IU and SC

I was at that game when Ernst scored to beat IU. Fast forward to 2012 and he’s coaching my kid at the Michigan Wolves. I went up to him after tryouts and said “please tell me you aren’t the Tim Ernst that scored for Evansville that knocked out IU are you”? He said “yah I am. How did you know that”. I said “I hate your stinking guts. I was at that game and I went to IU”. He burst out laughing and we ended being good friends.

His daughter is a national superstar. Soooo good and technically proficient. Tim’s wife played at MSU

May have to pass on the Tuesday EPL games. Nothing really excites me. It’s hard enough to catch the Champions league during the week.

An opinion piece in the Indy Star suggests Indy could be getting an MLS team sooner than later. Commissioner Garber flew into town recently to meet with Indianapolis leaders. This after he met with Mayor Hogsett earlier this year.

Apparently Garber has said he’d like to put a pause on further expansion. So would this mean they could still announce a future team once the stadium is built or would a present team be relocated?

Assuming Indy steals a team who are the most likely franchises to leave their cities? I don’t follow the MLS so I don’t know which teams struggle in their current situations.

Any ideas?

I don’t know but if you go on Seatgeek you can find clubs basically giving away tickets. Shitty attendance. My guess is mls would rather have a new franchise so they can charge a franchise fee. It’s probably close to 750 mil now.

. But mls teams have gone under. Mutiny. Fusion etc. maybe others are losing $$

It looks like the Simon’s who own the Pacers and Fever will most likely be the owners. They have not so quietly purchased some real estate on the western part of downtown. The owner of the Indy 11 had plans to build a new stadium but it looks like the city would rather work with the Simon’s. They certainly have deeper pockets.

Is he an Indian guy? I knew the old Indy 11 coach Tim Hankinson well. Garber likes the deep pockets and wants stadiums downtown. The next tv contract will be critical for mls. They survived for years on franchise fees
